The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Some of the best debates I've had on here or 606 before it have been were I have passionately disagreed with another posters point of view, but the debate has remained civil and well constructed.
I just don't get the personal insults and bickering is all. Like you say Munsty, each to their own.

I don't buy that. My 3 year old cousin derives enjoyment from drawing on the wall with a box of crayons but some things just aren't allowed.
As far as I'm aware anyway its not a matter of choice on the forum. You simply aren't allowed and you can post elsewhere if you must post in that way.
Or am I wrong?
What are you talking about though? Which aspect of what they are doing?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I think part of the problem Stag is that what would be easily recognisable as banter if we were down the pub, can sometimes be misconstrued by others on here and lead to an argument.
It would be a bit harsh to just boot people out because somebody else has misconstrued what they said, although I do take your point that serial offenders who are clearly only here to offend and contribute nothing positive should be dealt with.

The posters who just set out to rile up others with name calling, bickering and repeat wumming.
Pete- yes maybe its that banter doesn't transfer well and booting out for that would be harsh. But we have about a select who who seem to forever just irritate others.
Ignoring them - yea its grand in theory but all they need is one to bite.

Stag, all I can say is that they are being monitored and will be dealt with but the mods and admins have to be seen to be fair and give people a chance.

Thats fair enough. I'm not having a go. Just venting a little.

Nothing really Munster. I'll be putting it back I expect. I took it down yesterday just to see how it felt. It was really nice to go out and not be checking Facebook and that.
I'll put it back now so you can send me that link.

Is your camp big. I remember when I was in Germany I refereed a match in a US army camp. It was MASSIVE.
Had to change my money into dollars, had to get my passport cleared, had quarters for families, single men etc. Huge place.

Version 1
Yes, they do I've seen them. Mind you whenever I call around Debra Minging's house there's a little notice up saying "I'm out".
Version 2
Yes they do I've seen them. However they seem to be allergic to Heineken as you never see them in the ERC.

I see Bryan Young has moved to play his rugby in Italy after being released by Ulster (not to Aironi or Treviso, I think he's going to play for Cavalieri Prato). Now there's a guy who could have been a much better player if he had applied himself a bit more throughout his career.

Have just seen the present my aunt left for my dad. It's a book called Dear Brother from you to me. In it are lots of questions and it's for my dad to fill in. It's probably the equivalent of a small novel. I think it's absolutely fantastic and a lovely way for a brother and sister to get to know each other to a greater degree.

Yeah, its very circular. We have a number of posters who contribute to circular discussions. And some posters are just off the wall.

I wouldn't mind if there were off the wall posters as that would mean the debates would not become so tedious.

It just seems to start off with someone talking about the match, then we complain about Paddy Wallace for a while and soon after TOL gets a bashing and while we're at it a dash of Leamy hating is thrown in too. Every now and then someone has a cut off a Leinster guy which cues anarchy.

It bemuses me why Paddy Wallace is under constant discussion. Paddy Wallace is clearly the marmite of Irish Rugby.

Thomond,
Did you see the Lockout ended? Lots happening in free agency. Have to say I'm really quite happy with what the Eagles have done.

I think I have to try that aswell as scotch eggs which sound extremely nice.
Munsty,of course I've heard the lockout ended. Not happy with the Bucs moves, thinking about heading over to see them in Wembley. It will be a costly weekend but a good one,it's on the same day as the WC final.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They've signed one fella a punter and kickoff specialist but have retained the majority of their own free agents. They lost their middle linebacker though and don't appoear to be looking for another so may start a rookie there, which seems to be a risky situation.
The Bucs seem committed to do what the Patriots and other teams have done which is building through the draft. It seems a bit odd especially when you have rookie leading the defence. There are plenty of positives for the Bucs. With Bowers and Clayborne aswell as the return of McCoy and co.,they might finally have a good pass rush. The secondary isn't bad, Grimm looked good in place of Jackson as did Biggers and Lewis in place of Talib. I would also have high hopes for Asante and Lynch.

That's a shame Cari. Hope it's going well anyway.
Thomond,
Have you seen the cornerbacks we've put together. Samuel, Asomugha and Rodgers-Cromartie. I have to say I'm very happy with that. It's been a bit of a problem but now it's a real strength.
Ronnie Brown could be an inspired signing as well.

Seeing as I'm not 21 I'm disqualified! Munsty,Samuel will be traded I would imagine,McCoy is a great running back so I don't think Brown will be needed. I didn't know you were a football fan until you posted on the AF board earlier.
