Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Wallace photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Anyone been watching that Dallagio show about the WC on ITV4? I think he goes through each teams WC history. It was Australia last night and NZ the show before.
It was great watching some of the archive footage.

You know what I hate - squeaky shoes. I'm wearing shoes today that keep squeaking when I'm walking around at work.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag their backs coach is a guy called 'Billy Millard' but I'd assume Elwood has significant input. They don't have a specialist forwards coach listed, I suppose Dan McFarland be working with them. He's Assistant Coach.
On coaches, apparently Allen Clarke is currently involved with Ulsters scrum/forwards.

I think he's going to be involved on a semi-permanent basis this season though. Even if it is just with the scrum. I'm not delighted about that but he still knows more about front row play than anyone else at the province.
We've been looking for a scrum coach but failed to bring one in.

Shouldn't have sold Botha, Notch. You'll be sorry when Munsters pack learn how to scrummage.
I've decided I'm buying bundles of new clothes in next month. I never eve buy new clothes. Time for my annual effort!

I saw pics of Munster team training. Felix Jones was there on crutches and a cast but good to see him with a smile on his face anyway.

Tightheads earn massive sums of money, scrum coaches get by. Ulster refused to meet Bothas exorbitant wage demands. Enjoy paying through the nose for a player who will be on the treatment table as much as the pitch

Properly Scottish looking bloke as well. Good player though, very young but with a lot of potential. Big cheer for him last week when he bundled a Quins backrow into touch in the corner in the final moments to deny them a consolation score.
Sweet Jebus! That gives him an unfair(skuse pun) advantage. You'd be too busy getting over that glowing head and he'd be by you. Now that's Red. You are a brunette compared to him Notch.

If anyone deserves a massive run of good luck and fortune - its that lad. I admire him so much. Admire the way, through massive adversity, the manner in which he played his way into the WC squad. Would be on the plane had he not had more misfortune. Want to see him back on the field soon. Even if its running riot v Leinster. Just really like his attitude and style. Born international player.

Evening all.
Just been reading back, and Gibbo! I feel I should correct you....
The only Andy in tennis that I love is one Mr Roddick, really like to see Andy Murray do well though (not sure if I've made that clear though )
Managed to watch Dai Greene's race in my lunch break today, so utterly happy for him. Really pleased for Hannah England getting a surprise silver in the 1500m too, a good day for GB athletics!
Cari - that's fab news on the interview

Evening all,
Watched Great Britain play Turkey in the basketball. They were slaughtered but my friend was happy. Interesting watching it though with two basketball enthusiasts.
GB are going to be humiliated at the Olympics.

And all I could think of was this blydi emoticon !!!
Please let me have kept a straight face...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Munsty - in track and field quite possibly(we were in Beijing), in the cycling, rowing, sailing, triathalon etc it's all looking v good at the moment. Swimming is going through a wobbly stage, but a lot of them should come good too. What I love the most about the Olympics, is that it's so much more than just track and field for a change, tis fab although I doubt we'll do as well as we did overall in 2008.
Swanny - that's brilliant! I definitely would not have been able to keep a straight face at that.

I imagine he had a pretty tough time at school ...
One of the deputy principals (before his retirement) was named Wayne Kerr. Seriously. Though his nickname was "Fly-tox" due to his refusal in his younger days to start a class with any flies in the room. My Dad's boss was taught by Kerr in the late 60's (40 years teaching at one school ...) and back then boys used to come to class with jars of pre-caught live flies and let them out.
Anyways, it's an hour past hometime so I'm outta here

This really cheered me up;

Apologies to any... native Ulster Scots speakers. It's a fine dialect. It's just quite funny when they translate official documents. And, a frightening waste of money.

Couldn't really express my views on it without breaking the politics rule
Tried several times, but its one of the more bizarre consequences of the peace process. And an example of how NI politics is still in its petty adolescent phase.

Awww. I'm really gonna miss Wally in the world cup. He looked very nice in the Irish disco shirt.
Incidentally, has Penfro got a stand in for the TV guide whilst he's away, or is he going to be a show off and do it from NZ?

Juts finished cleaning my room, for the first time in months I can actually see my desk. Mayhap I'll actually get some writing done now with a proper place to work! Well, maybe anyway.....

Ah good Dreamer - it'll be a packed TV guide for sure for the next few weeks
I had a good clear out whilst I was off. Even took some stuff to the charidee shop which they appreciated. I think it's healthy to have a good tidy up now and again, although I very tidy anyway. I'm one of those people who's super organised. Even my CDs and DVDs are arranged alphabetically.

Cari - aye definitely good to have a good clear out. My next job is to tackle my clothes. Really need a good clear out of the stuff I just don't wear so I can clear up some space. Might have to look at what shoes I don't use either, I just don't understand how I've got so many!

Hope everyone is well. Having a very frustrating day here! Roll on the weekend.
Watched Harlequins training earlier today at their training ground in Guildford. Was certainly interesting.
