Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Wallace photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Breaker - that's cool. I live down the road from the Blues home ground. There's a guy who lives across the road from me who's something to do with the Blues and he's from Oz or NZ. I don't know if he plays - he's big enough, but I don't recognise his face. I could be nosy...I mean, neighbourly I suppose...
Gibbo - Haven't you?! It's sitting in my outbox...I'll check again...

Michael Paterson's great grandfather and my grandfather were brothers (on Mum's side). He is Canterbury through and through but obviously the competition was stiff so he played for the Canes in 2009, then first season at the Blues last year.
So I guess I'm a Cardiff Blues fan now. Feel quite proud of him actually. I hope has has a better season this year... put last year down to finding his feet in the NH. I hope he combines well with Pretorius!
That's excellent Breaker. Gives you a real interest in it. Have you seen their new website mate?

Woah, thats a strong enough Leinster side to face the O's. 17 players out an all. Nae bad. Nae bad atall atall.

Big strapping lad... about 24 years old. Wears the headgear and quite a fearless player always sniffing out the ball.
Go easy on him Cari...

Gibbo - is there nothing showing at all on your profile? I've asked the mods to clarify if there's a problem with the email on here or not. I definitely emailed you last night cause it's still sat in my outbox waiting for you to open it.
Breaker - hmmm this guy could be a little older, but then having said that you can't really tell ages with some players!

We've just changed our ISP, brand new router and my download speeds are just getting slower and slower. I think it must be my superannuated PC - it makes what I can only describe as a creaking noise all the time. Been looking into a replacement but I'm a bit out of the loop now that I no longer have a workplace with IT dept. Any ideas out there on specs for RAM, HD capacity, processor speeds suitable for a little old lady who does not play PS games?

That's great Gibbo. I've already joined the 606v2 league and selected my players. Patto's there of course!
They have a fairly decent squad and they should be in the top half I'd say.

Hi, Cari! All OK here in the frozen north, but had some internet problems, been visiting my aunt in Kent etc. Been sticking my head round the bar door, lurked in the dark corner with my glass of vino a few times, but you know what shy retiring types we pumas are. Have my claws crossed for you on the new office front BTW, here's hoping you have some good news soon.

Gibbo - if you're still lurking, you might have to delete some sent/received emails to make room for more?
I'm probably talking to myself there...
Cheers Puma. Hope the internet problems are sorted now. On the work front, apparently someone called here yesterday when I was on leave about my application so we'll see...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Puma, are you looking for a desktop or a laptop?
You could pick up either with perfectly adequate specs for 300/400 quid I’d say, no problem.
I would say 2/3 GB of ram, 250GB of HD space and a processor of 2.2 GHz would be well within the “basic” spec category these days and that would do the job very well. most of them come with windows 7 which I hear is very good

Hi Puma girl.
I'll have a scan online and get you a good selection. All depends how much you want to spend. If you only use the Internet and play with pics etc, it should be pretty good and reasonably priced. I'll Email you pal.

Strikes me that Lukey Fitz at 12 can only end badly. Leinster's seconds not as good as first thought. I reckon we could take them.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Thanks for the input, lads. I'm really looking at PCs rather than laptops - Himself has a laptop - and I rather fancy one of those all-in-one jobs. Is that being a bit girly and choosing on the basis of style rather than content? Don't want to spend more than about £500.
See Cillian Willis on the bench - didn't know he had returned out of the Wesht. Pity he never really got much game time with Ulster or Connacht - will it be any different back 'home'? I am soooo excited about the new season starting - roll on tomorrow!

I met Michael Paterson and Paul Tito when I was in the Cardiff Blues hospitality box for the recent Wales v England game. He's a good lad.

Willis is just on a three-month temporary contract during the RWC. He had intended to retire from the game but Leinster came calling with a SOS call so he'll leave professional rugby after the World Cup is finished.

We do have some very talented young ginger players coming through at Ulster. Better keep them away from the Leinster forwards of we want to keep their spirits up.

And well done Dai Greene
Saw him run about 2 years ago and reckoned he would get silver or gold at the Olympics. Fantastic that he's got a gold at the Worlds.

James Horwill 96
Will Genia 78
Adam A-C 74
Digby Ione 73

Properly Scottish looking bloke as well. Good player though, very young but with a lot of potential. Big cheer for him last week when he bundled a Quins backrow into touch in the corner in the final moments to deny them a consolation score.

To be fair, thats what Connacht do. They drive me mental sometimes in the sense they try to mess up the scrums if they are at all under pressure.
