First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Pocock photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I'm worried that there'll be a bit of a backlash from Leinster on Friday. They'll have had a rocket after the performance at the Liberty.

She's struggling a bit MrsP, getting frustrated that she can't do stuff, especially with the little ones. Also having some stress with her mother who I have to say is a nice person, but is so in her own little bubble she fails to realise the impact of things she does on others.

Ah, there are worse things going on in the World though, so can't complain, but could do with a real blow out to be honest. Will have to see when Hughie and some of the other London regs are next meeting up and see if a I can tag along for a few.

How's things in the Possion household these days?

I am also. I think we should be looking at targeting their lineout as it was poor against the O's and ours is usually very strong. We need to have a heck of a lot more composure than our last outing though. I would also like to see Adam Hughes in his best position of 13.

I haven't heard either way. Although if it is a hamstring problem it is unlikely. Leach at 12 and Hughes at 13 would be my preferred combo if Ash doesn't make it. Although it usually all goes belly up without him.

Loved it MrsP, every evening she has come home and asked if she can go back the next day. She's been exhausted at the end of each day though, so will take a bit of getting used to for her. She brought her first reading book home today, so we sat and read it together before she went to bed. Just writing some comments in her reading diary now.

Gibbo, I don't have to handle the mother in law fortunately, we never see her which is half the problem. She lives 10 minutes drive away and since the wife had the op last week she's popped in once for about 15 minutes despite passing our house regularly when going to do other things. She didn't even phone to speak to the little one on her first day of school. The wife naturally was quite upset by that.

I suppose so Gibbo,we'll just forget the fact that Cork have more All-Ireland wins than any other county in both codes, and that Munster beat Leinster in the ML final and when it mattered Wink Let's not forget that we prodcuced the greatest Irish soccer player of all time, Roy Keane.

Yes,Cork people have big egos. Why do you ask?

It probably didn't help matters that my mum phoned twice, once before she went to school in the morning and then again in the evening.

Ah well, as you say, it's her that is missing out.

Evenin' all, just taking a break from the kitchen. I was hoping to be home in time to cook and eat dinner, instead I'm going to be having home made lasagne for lunch the next couple of days plus more in the freezer for a later date.

For whoever asked up-thread Matt Berquist had a pretty good season with the Crusaders, played quite a few matches with Carter injured, and was good enough that Tyler Bleyendaal never got a minute onfield. Of course his airmiles count for the year is up over 120,000 so he may well be jaded.

On Horizon; brain scans of psychopaths have a significantly different profile to the general population. Could a future society use brain scan imaging to screen the general population? What moral issues would this raise for general society?

Similar to the 'Monority Report' concept of pre-crime. If you find a child who has a genetic predisposition to violence/psychopathy can you restrict their freedom?

It seems that its a case of genetic predisposition. The question for me is do these traits naturally lead to criminal behaviour? All it leads to is the disregard for ethics and a lack of empathy. What turns you from a bit of a jerk into a fully fledged psycho is generally in life experience, especially childhood.

Psychopathy is just a behaviour profile, not actually an action. It's a personality type really. PROFOUND Lack of empathy, remorse, egocentric, manipulative, charismatic etc. So should they be locked up? They haven't committed any crime. Yet have a higher propensity to do so.

The number of psychopaths on big business is 4x the general population by the way. High finance etc.

Lack of empathy is a key thing though Notch. For someone to go through life in an emotionless state well to put it frankly isn't much of a life. The genetic disposition aspect of it calls into question the idea of free will which will always be a stumbling block in cases like this.

It's pretty stunning that the number of genuine psychopaths working in finance, big business etc. is SO much more pronounced than the general population. I mean, four times as much! That just knocks me out.

I lack empathy. It doesn't mean that i am a psychopath or that i deserve to be locked up.

Haha, no. It's just the personality type of a banker and a murderer are not so far apart. Bret Easton Ellis called it right!

Errm Willy, always thought you were a ruffled-haired darlin. You have me scared now pal.

What will insurance companies and the LAW, do with DNA information and this also? Will anyone have a chance to be a complete and utter phhokin socially unacceptable - looney? Or concieved perverts? Like Mozart? Like Michaelangelo? Darwin? Einstein? Like.. Well like everyone who ever made sense of it all and took us to a higher plane?

That happens... Im out Ted. Kill the Corporate robots. Let the psychos live. guinness

What has ever, I hear you ask, come out of cork??? Well honestly ladies and gentlemen I'm as stumped as you.

Langers will claim that Irelands greatest footballer came from Cork. Very true, if you consider a player who walks out on their country in the middle of a World Cup your greatest player.

What about Sonia O'Sullivan they cry, the greatest athlete the country ever produced. Well she's from Cobh and I reckon even The Right Honorable Gentleman Thomond would agree that people from Cobh are breed upon themselves, a bunch of pikeys who cross bread with some badgers. And let's be honest she can't even make it 1500m without Poopie herself.

What's that from the back??? Michael Collins??? True True a great man no doubt, shame Ye had to shoot him in the back

Jack Lynch, good call, very good Taoiseach, so good in fact that they built a tunnel and named it after him, shame its sinking into the harbour though

Cork, its a wonderful place
