The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the David Pocock photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Just watching my recording of the Lions '71 programme that was on the Beeb the other day, just some amazing rugby.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I forgot that was on, Dreamer. I've got a Lions video somewhere with some of the '71 tour on it. I'm going to be watching ITV's World Cup preview at 8

Lucky - I wasn't commenting on anything specifically...I wasn't following the conversation really. To be honest I didn't think anyone was reading.
I can't believe it's pishing down again. I swear we've had a weeks worth of rain in two days.

Evening all
Sardines with lemon, garlic and chilli and potato gratin for dinner I have just had. All washed down with a nice pint of Fursty Ferret.
What is it, about 36 hours until the World Cup starts??? I cannot wait, like an excited little kid before Christmas!!!

Gibbo seriously, I've eaten over half a massive dish all by myself. Just too nice.
Lucky - reckon it's my fave match too!

I will be at boiling point by the time England kick off on Saturday morning. Opening ceremony, then the AB's game Friday morning morning, then London Irish play Sale on Friday night, cannot wait.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Think I'm going to take a rain check;nottins,MickyT,your's faithfully, amongst others are being ignored in your build up to your RWC;there are other things in life;but if you have no need to see or appreciate them, then forward, onward, upwards.
And see you when you've shaken off this nationalistic habit that is slung across shoulders for certain World Dominance periods.
I honestly am starting to become bored, and it began with the soccer.

Ah Mick, Dreamer's right we all get lost in conversation. I've been ignored for the last two days, only cause I haven't been here much or got anything interesting to say anyway - that's my fault more than anyone else's cause I just aven't bothered to make the effort or logged on at the wrong time or something.

By the way, if anyone is interested, it was Banki Moon(doesn't have anything to do with finance with a monicker like that?) who made yesterday's quote.

Evening Chef
I'm not in as much as some so hadn't noticed anyone being ignored, but am sure it hasn't been intentional or done out of malice.
Also, just to say you are right, there is plenty in life going on outside of the World Cup, which is why it is such a welcome distraction for me.
(I started typing this about 10 minutes ago but got distracted by the wife and youngest daughter)

Hmm, that's strange. This RWC preview covered England's win over the Wallabies in Australia last summer but made no mention of Matt Giteau's late penalty miss...

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I get ignored all the time or is that because i talk to myself?
I think some posts can get missed among the flow of things i doubt it is due to being deliberately ignored. Though when you have a large group of people you may get the odd clique.

No one's ignored intentionally, I'm sure of it.
How's things, Rhino? How's Cwmbranistan? Hope that 'incident' wasn't anywhere near you.

Do you want to be ignored or ignore others? Because you've now blown the first one.

Did they mention Wilkinson's missed kick after Giteau's? Funnily that doesn't get mentioned much by people you bring up Gitaeu's missed kick. Pretty sure there was knock on involved with one of their tries. Was that mentioned?

Was the irony in there deliberately? You didn't even notice them not being noticed

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
To be fair, there is going to be a lot of World Cup chat. And I enjoy that!
But right now, I've turned over to Horizon on BBC2. It's on the Science of what defines peoples morality- or as they out it, 'Good and Evil'*. Now tell me thats not an interesting way to spend an hour? Beats Celebrity Big Brother anyhow
*Now there's an unscientific term.
You may ignore this message if you wish!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
My comments were a little tongue in cheek i hope they come across that way.
Besides i like talking to myself although i beat myself up in an argument earlier.
Lucky i don't live too far from Pontnewydd in fact i think the chippy i go to is right by there.
Gibbo Dragons can't afford to take it easy on anyone. They need to learn how to gain points away from home even if it is just a losing bonus point. I was seriously underwhelmed by Munster on the weekend but we were worse than them.
Also where did Leinster get that outside half from. Did he seriously play for the Canterbury Crusaders? More like Celtic Crusaders on that form. (Note i have now cursed the Dragons as he will in all likelyhood score 40 against us now)
