First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current props' pictures on the bar. We've got Castrogiovanni, Hika Reid, The Beast, Colin Windon, the Franks brothers, Mas, Tonga'uiha, Roncero, Cian Healey (as demanded by Hughie), Stevens, Murray, Mike Ross, Adam Jones and Steenkamp all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Great win Tonga, come on Scotland!

Genuinely gutted for Scotland. So close. Deserved to win the game. Kick in the teeth they didn't get to do that.

Moving on it seems England are in a similar position to us Irish in terms of a problem child at 10. Must be Flood now surely? As to who goes through to the semi, it's a hard one to call. Depends which French side decides to turn up I guess.

aye Cari, the GG mentioned in on the thread about Steyne being out for SA. Looks like both could miss the rest of the tournament, or well McCaw might be able to play a couple more, but not 3 in a row.

NZ won't reach the final without Carter, in fact they won't get past the Aussies either. Unfair to say they'll choke again as Carter is a major player.

I haven't been overly impressed with England, but if we manage to get past Italy they won't face a Tri Nations side until the Final and have a quarter against a side that have only beat Japan and Canada to get there! So there's plenty of time for them to build up some momentum.

The Ireland vs Italy game is massive, not just for the two teams but for the whole shape of the tournament. Nervous? Aye, a wee bit!

Chill fella, I am aware that you are trying to have a little wind up at mine and England's expense, it's not a problem, just as long as you can take a little gentle poke back when Wales find a banana skin under their collective boot.

But it is though when you use your big red pen isn't it dreamer. I also seriously think that suggesting I am following a poster indicates a rather paranoid and proprietary approach to this chat room. I went into the pub and blow me find a completely contradictory post form someone so choose to comment. You can characterise that as following someone around if you choose but you would be way off the mark. I consider that allegation to be a WUM.

Anyone see Williams' try against Fiji? The pre-score dive? Shane Williams also arrogant and punchable? Funny cause at the time I don't remember calls of disrespect and arrogance. Must be my memory

I'm not a massive fan of either Williams or Ashton to be honest Thunor. I think they both rate quite highly on the punchability scale. Let's just gloss over the prominent place Ronan O'Gara occupies in this conversation though. Selective amnesia is essential for the safe navigation of the internet Whistle Wink

And Ashton is 24 and people were suggesting he should have been banned after doing the dive against Italy for unsporting behaviour. Point is no-one cared when it was Williams.

Is it just because Ashton played league? Or that he's a northerner?

No LDC Pete, you made the point for me and are doing so again. There was only one context, that of the game we just watched. You interpret any challenge to england as wum not as a fair appraisal of a poor (your word) performance. You yourself acknowledge england are poor on one thread and on another jump on a post confirming that. If you want to try and justify that feel free, i know what i read.

England didn't deserve it, were clinical and the W is all that counts.

Fill yer boots if Fiji wins, what you write really has no bearing on pretty much anything much as you would like to believe it does. Be careful not to WUM won't you.

And feel free to have the last word as well Very Happy

eh, who said he should be banned?

Think it's more a media problem Thunor, the English press does it's players no favours mate.

And I dunno why I don't like him, sometimes you just get players like that. Like I don't like Yachvilli for France, and I blooming love the French rugby team. Just one of those things.

Back on 606. Can't access it now. The English press has nothing to do with the English team. Why would the behave of one group affect how people feel about another group? It would be like hating the All Blacks because Ghost is a WUM. Or in fact hating England because of HERSH.
