First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of great current props' pictures on the bar. We've got Castrogiovanni, Hika Reid, The Beast, Colin Windon, the Franks brothers, Mas, Tonga'uiha, Roncero, Cian Healey (as demanded by Hughie), Stevens, Murray, Mike Ross, Adam Jones and Steenkamp all in action. Graffiti's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

When you get a side thats on fire they will make the opposition look worse than they really are.
Wales handling today was good but when you take into account the conditions the handling was superb.

I'm gonna watch the new Star Trek reboot thing on Ch4. I hope it's good, I wouldn't normally be a Star Trek fan but this is a J. J. Abrams thing... could be good? Anyone seen it?
No Welsh jibes can bother me today, I've been wandering around smiling all day. I was stumbling around Tesco glassy eyed and vacant, humming World In Union. What a win for Ireland

But that's how I feel! Whose going to be waking up? Uh oh. Too dangerous for a Sunday night- back to peace and love and, er, Star Trek.

France will get through and there's no point Ireland playing them cause they'll lose, so it's best to get knocked out in the QF beforehand isn't it? Don't thank us until after the match

Do you know what would be really entertaining on match day? If Wales wear their usual red shirts, then Ireland come out wearing the Welsh red training tops...

what do you mean end up?
ah just seen Roberts' second try. Such a great break by Georgie and he was so unselfish at the end, could have easily just got that try himself.

I love inheriting a free copy of last month's Rugby World (which I forgot to buy) only to find articles in their about Wally and Tommy with piccies. Oh I am spoilt. Shame about Wally's interview though - they obviously did it before he was injured

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Possibly the most blatent WUM ever from Munster fans.com
"Not a chance, we've all seen enough Lee Byrnes, Andy Powell's, Gavin Henson's and Halfpennys to know how easily the Welsh and the British throw around the "World Class" term so forgive my skepticism of those players who to me appear like flavour of the month players who'll be nothing in a year or two. They're a nation who will never win the Heineken Cup, dominate in the SH or make significant impacts in the RWC and players who can't cut it club level, regularly underperform in the 6N aren't miraculously going to become world class by sheer media will for it to be true.
Wales are a poor side who've lost more games than they've won in the six nations era and their clubs achieve nothing at club level. Performing remarkably poor last season in fact. They'll believe they can win this despite already losing a game, having poor club sides and no head to head record against us to speak of. Thats the kind of folly and frail mentality that will be easily exploited. Put the welsh two scores behind and they'll fall to bits in record time"
Notch,I'm not wumming at the moment. Just bantering, none of the stuff I have said isn't true. Fiji were awful,Wales played decent, got too much space and the tackling was awful but they played pretty good.

It's kind of funny, how do they work Budweiser and Nokia product placement into a frickin' Star Trek film? That takes some balls like.

What those Munster Wums fail to appreciate is that since '08 Wales have underachieved. That came to an end today. When the club sides stop underachieving you will have won your last HC.

Asbo for Scotland. But fairdo's Glasgae - they won well away to the Blues.
Cymro - I don't fancy J-Ro. Honestly I don't. I don't think I'd be comfortable with him being my gynaecologist though.

Gonna take staying out of here for a week to restore your balance Asbo man- unless you like the incessant wumming between the people of a proud nation and a... principality? Is that right? Maybe we should just say Royal Holiday Retreat, that will do

We expected a semi final in 07! No I am not expecting anything out of this game after watching you take Italy apart. I said earlier it's a shame we meet so early. It will grate with me that either of us go out of this competition before England do.

Indeed. England got a plummy draw, but thats their good fortune. They may make the best of it yet. Anyway, I'm not going to throw anymore digs. It's all just 30 men chasing after an egg-shaped ball.

Hehehe. Yeah, whatever. Okay
Actually Cari, on a serious note, whatever about England, Wales- I want to see France out and found out. They got through with two wins- against the rugby powerhouses Canada and Japan. They don't play for each other. None of them would fight to the end for the man next to him like Wales, England and Ireland's proud representatives would.
The way Argentina were in 2007, they were like brothers. More than the sum of their parts, each man going beyond his individual ability because he knew his teammates would do the same for him. The essence of a rugby team. They remain my second team in international rugby to this day but England were the same in that tournament, the champions South Africa were the same. Three great rugby teams in the most quintessential sense.
France are the anti-Argentina. I hope England send them packing!
Glas- I aim to please. I've deleted so many lines like that today. I'm trying to rise above, but that one just slipped through. I'm going to be Mother O'Teresa when it comes to Wumming from here on in though... maybe

I'll be serious for a minute and say I honestly don't care what happens next weekend. Firstly we've got out of a group that not many thought we would and secondly if Ireland do win, their supporters might finally stop whinging about the ball boy incident. There's only so many thick paddies I can keep on reminding about Ireland's dodgy three points on that day. Or don't "ye" lot play knock ons?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Rev,I think most of the sensible ones have moved past that incident. We didn't deserve to win that day anyway. Besides it was Paddy Wallace's fault. *
*No it wasn't Wallace was correct.
