The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of the captains of the World Cup Quarter Finalists pictures on the bar. We've got Sam Warburton, Brian O'Driscoll, Lewis Moody, Thierry Dusautoir, John Smit, James Horwill, Felipe Contepomi and Richie McCaw.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Just been chatting with Mrs about etymology and other fun stuff(as she's reading Jo Nesbo en anglais),and talking of the word "flick'. Is it still used in a cinematographic context in current language?Do people still say "I'm off to the flicks tonight",par exemple?Merci.

Found them!!!!
That child has a great talent for "hiding" stuff.
She once lost her specs and we found them 6 months later.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The kids have got nothing on the wife for losing things in this house.
She phoned me at work last week to say she was out and had lost her door keys. I couldn't get home immediately so she said she'd go to her friends house. When she got there, she phoned to tell me that she'd found the keys, the were under the little ones backside in the buggy.

Stag,
I'm afraid I told MrsP the Truth a while back. Read back before you comment. It may affect your career.

Nothing needs to be said Gibbo. Seemed I can't go 3-4 days without posting in the pub without the place going to shoite.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Question for the evening: Is the Sexton experiment over as soon as it began? Did Jonathon arrive too late on the scene. Still seen as a rookie at 26 years of age and he has Ian Keatley and the young Ulster flyhalves breathing down his neck.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag,it was Felipe/IRFUs fault. He should have been sent to Connacht. He will get capped further obviously and will be the main out half for at least another 2 years but he could fine himself under a lot of pressure for the shirt after that

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag is back in full WUM-mode.
No, feic off!
Sexton will play his part v Wales. ROG is playing well, since he threw his soother out of the pram and Deccie backed down in true Eddie style. (is that racist?)
But, when we play France or England in the SF's - my bet is Sexton will start.

Not a WUM Gibbo just asking a question.
I am firmly a Sexton fan. I would have thought we may see him in this game. I expect to see him come on all fired up. I also haven't forgotton how good he can be - Northampton 2nd half, England 6 Nations.

He still isn't a great goalkicker,I don't think he ever was or will be. Wanted to see him at 12 but not going to happen now.

Thomond - I wanted to see him at 12 too and I think that:
10 O'Gara
12 Sexton
21 Keatley
Isn't the worst lineup we could have in February. Leinster will need him at 12 but yes he's not a great kicker is he?

You'd leave Wallace out for Sexton at 12?

Yes indeed. A 10 who can't kick worth Poopie is useless. Time to shoot him in the head lob off his testicles and head to the science lab. Then when ROG's boot has won us the WC we do the same to him. Combine Sexton's running game with ROG's kicking and we have our very own Dan Carter. Find a lovely and willing Irish lass to eh implant and bang 20 years from now the WC will be ours again. Simples.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Im just hardcore like that Glas.
I think Ireland will have major change in the centre over next 2 seasons as Darcy and Wallace get phased out. We have got a taste of the second five eight and it excited the fans in the Aussie match. I see Sexton and Keatley both fulfilling this role internationally (with the latter doing it for Munster too). I expect that Nevin Spence will also get tried at 12 partnering BOD. He seems to have got as much game time at 12 than at 13 for Ulster last season.
