First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the collage of pub regulars. We've got the big group pic from the HEC final in Cardiff, plus insets of ll those who couldn't make it

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Hi All

I realise that all the excitement / nervousness is about tomorrow. I shan't be watching it live, but I hope it is a cracking match.

I would like Wales to win for all my Welsh friends on here. But I may have to show at least some support for France as we have just appointed a French Principal in our College where I am governor - this will be in the interest of good labour relations you understand Whistle

Can I bring everyone back to terra firma for a few moments, please? What is the requirement for tickets for the Bath Leinster match in December? How many are required?

I do "ticket swoppng" with my brother - no money involved. I buy tickets over here for him to use in Ireland (usually Thomond) and he reciprocates with tickets for matches over here either internationals or HEC.

I have just been talking to him and he reckons he can get some more for Bath Leinster....

Kai, at the moment, I believe that takers would be yourself, Mick (TEFC), Gib, Kiwi Pete, prop, lucky, Hoog and myself at a minimum, with a couple more stragglers likely to come out of the woodwork. I haven't heard from the two Micks in Dublin for a while, and hopefully we might be able to get some thu them, likewise Gib reckoned he could get his hands on a few OK

So that's 9 by my count Asbo. I believe Gibbo is sorted, but don't know how many he has; I have four in the bag at the moment - 3 for me and the 4th is for Mick Chef .

I should be able to get a few more.

Isn't it Prop who is sorting out the Scarlets Munster match? If so, my bro would be very willing to do a swop for the following w/e Munster Scarlets match, so maybe I will pm Prop.

Dreamer

We would love to go to the Scarlets Munster match. Thing is, having submitted my thesis I am expecting my examination to be around about the two HEC weekends. It would be great f it were Fri 9th December, butr a nightmare if it were Monday 12th Dec. really couldn't face it with a rugby sized hangover...

Can I get back to you in a couple of weeks time when I should have some dates as to my commitments.

Thanks

OK Asbo - looks good. I think I have offered Gibson and Chef a bed (only one, they shared last time they were here, but tihs could be interesting as I believe Mrs Gibson might be coming too ...), but as I said to Dreamer, I am making no commitments about attendance, accommodation or anything at this stage. Will confirm asap. Oh and by the way might be able to recommend a new eatery / pop-up restaurant in Bristol for the w/e.

meanwhile as the sun is shining and we have neglected the garden for the past few weeks, must go and pick the remains of the summer fruit Run

Question - which of the following sounds more craic on a rugby trip?

- Visit a firing range where you can test your skill with an AK47 rifle, Kalashnikov or Uzi.

- Attend an afternoon of gokarting and paintballing.

- Visit a brewery.

- A days surfing

Paintballing and Go Karting!

Cymro,

Apparently the players all signed a contract with regard to logos on display and several players then wore gumshields which had the manufacturers logo visible and they were then fined.

Seems like a really really daft contract!

On the subject of the HC games on the weekend in question, I’m a definite no. I will not long be back from Dubai and will be in serious resting mode that weekend. I’m not going to Bayonne v Wasps for the same reason.

Cheers MrsP for the info and yes it certainly does seem a silly contract.
But I guess the media attention has achieved the publicity the manufacturer wanted.
I remember a few years ago the fuss created when Beckham who at the time was sponsored by Brylcreem shaved his head Brylcreem loved it because it generated a lot of media attention.

At scrum time Monsieur Rolland has given 16 penalties, 4 free kicks and allowed 15 resets.
