The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the team photos of the World Cup finalists. Or the action shots (put up especially for Cari) of McCaw, Kahui and Corey Jane.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Brian McLoughlin picks the team and calls the plays not DHumph!
I wouldn't be so sure about that actually. I think Humphreys has much more of a hands on role. If not why is he regularly in the dugout?
Stag, Shane Logan is the visionary Chief Executive of Ulster Rugby. Doing a smashing job. Guided by Humphreys of course

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
But sure what does Humphreys do then? He surely has some form of input and does more than sign 3 foreigners a year.
You have:
- Your coaching team, which is led by Head Coach. They coach the team during training, select teams for matches and make the tactical calls during the game.
- Your CEO is no doubt responsible for personnel decisions such as hiring/firing the coach, sponsorship deals for the province, promoting the province nationally and abroad etc.
- A director of rugby whose job is?

But he isn't usually in Brian's new wee hide-out down the Aquinas end.

I would imagine that the CEO is leads the club as a business, where as the Director of rugby makes rugby decisions such as hiring and firing of new players. It makes pretty good sense to me.

Good man Sam.
I have to say I think it was a mistake of the ABs not to cite Rougerie for the gouging of McCaw.
I think everyone has to do their bit to get that sort of disgraceful behaviour out of the game.

One of my friends retweeted Vincent Clerc:

Petit clin d’oeil du destin j’étais à côté de Sam Warburton pendant le vol entre Auckland et Brisbane ! ;-) "

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Someone came into the office yesterday and when we were discussing the last two World Cup matches, he said he thought Wales would have beaten the All Blacks if we'd made the final. I have to say I don't think we would have performed half as well as France did in the final.

That's what I said, Glas. But with fewer 'no's.

The gap's not what it was, Stag. You proved that against Australia. As did England not so long ago.
