First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the life size photo of Thierry Dusautoir.

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Kiwi - Diwali is NOT the Festival of Light in W. London.

It is a contest about which family can make the most noise.

That sounds a brilliant plan Stag!

Hadn't realised Blues were playing on the Fri, I might very well go to that.

If you need to somewhere to stay on the Fri then you're more then welcome to crash at mine and just get the train down to Llanelli with me on the Sat.

Get a mouth guard, Swanny - not like rugby players ones - but it will help you to stop cracking your teeth. I had one and only had to wear it for a short while and it broke the habit.

Must admit though - it is a bit of a passion killer .....

awwww I'm in LOVE. I want that dog. Curse my living in a flat Cry

My uncle has a collie, and they are absolute stunners to have as a pet. Completely mental mind you, but utterly brilliant.

You thinking of rehoming him Kia? He looks like he'd be a joy to look after.

I can't get used to it. The number of times I've woken up in the morning only to find the wretched thing under my pillow, under my ribs, on the floor, anywhere except where it's supposed to be!!

Kia, Charlie looks gorgeous! Have to say though, be prepared to keep him entertained. My sister has a border collie/golden retriever cross and the characteristics of two working breeds in one hyperactive dog is exhausting! Bradley came to stay with me last Friday when his house was being invaded by a couple of dozen teenagers for my niece's 16th birthday party - don't know who had the more hectic evening, me or Rosanne! At least Bradley didn't sneak bottles of vodka into the house and then vomit

This is all Puma's fault!!

She emailed me a couple of weeks agto asking WHEN we were going to get another dog. I passed the email on to M and she thought "Oh good, we can talk dogs now". We went to look at some border collie pups and have reluctantly said No as we really got a lot of satisfaction from rehoming. So we have been trawling the sites since then.

I have had border collies in the past, and yes they are mental. But last time I had four teenagers and a hectic lifestyle. I live a calmer more reflective life now zen . Also BCs simply need mental stimulation. So we hide the morning biccies around the garden ...

Anyway, we had said happy with Collie X but not pure BC but now ..

Think we might phone in the morning.

Thanks for your comments

Night night

Yeah Rav, I remember. MrsP's dog too. I think they have an initial aversion to Leinster fans. Then, as they get to realise we don't bite - they get to love us. I think. zen

I drank 3 pitchers of Bud in the States and all I did was pee. No affect. Went on the Vodka.

Its good to see them develop real beer though. I'll be trying that next time we visit.

Americans cannae make beer - not proper beer anyway. On our sojourn south of the border last week, Himself went a bit loopy over a pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord that he was served in a pub in Richmond (Yorkshire, not Surrey). But, the pub itself was crummy and a local who sat waaaay too close was very smelly, so the female contingent voted that we find some lunch elsewhere. Had some trouble dragging him out and he kept on about that bloody beer for the rest of the weekend! He says the Scots can make the best whisky (whiskey?? what's that?) but they not decent beer.

Tintin is awesome. It's the best computer animation I've seen in a film and it is wonderfully true to the old Tintin books in style. It's good for kids as well. A real movie for the whole family.

What I don't understand is that there was hardly anyone there for Tintin, yet Paranormal Activity was nearly full. What has gone wrong with our generation?

Munsty, they used Motion Capture for it. Basically all the movements in it were done by a real life person and converted to animation.
