The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the life size photo of Thierry Dusautoir.
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I caught the tail end of a story on the BBC this morning where some reporter was speaking from inside the "BOD POD". Was Ireland's secret weapon not ready in time for the RWC?

At least you didn't go on your backside Kiwi...as amusing as that would've been to your neighbours
Munsty - I think Staggy's right. This time of year, people go for scary movies. The TV guide is full of them this weekend too. I get annoyed by that, as not everyone wants to watch horror films over the weekend just cause it's Hallowe'en.
My mother was telling me that kids have been chucking apples at her windows too which frightens her. I never remember kids doing stuff like that on Hallowe'en when I was younger. When did throwing eggs and things become the norm?

What I don't understand is that there was hardly anyone there for Tintin, yet Paranormal Activity was nearly full. What has gone wrong with our generation?
Well munsty if most people were going to see paranormal activity and you were going to Tin Tin, id ask the question, What's wrong with you??

Munsty - did you go to a late viewing? Maybe the time of day meant more people went to the horror film?

Rava,
We certainly do. I'm a student, I'm always free, unless I've got a coaching practical or attending an info session on working in camps in the US for the summer or playing squash or helping out at Pana cage football.
Hughie,
No need to moan, reply sent!

Kiwi, you want to get some chicken wire or something on top of that ramp PDQ. A couple of years ago, I slipped on the disabled ramp outside my sister's house. Result - double fracture and partial dislocation of the ankle with added irony. You just really really don't want to do the same!

That's awesome. The animation really was absolutely fantastic. I'd love to make a movie like that myself. I really hope they do another.

Is it slippy becaues of algae on it, Kiwi? In which case, a scrub with some bleach or Jeyes fluid - will stink to high heaven for a while - should do the trick.

I suspect so - we had to scrub it down last winter. Looks like that'll be my job Saturday, Anne's off to Brighton for the weekend.

Hi, Cari. I'm caught in a quandary. Do I, as a Leinster supporter, get up off my sofa and trek to Murrayfield tomorrow night or do I go down the pub with my pals, being that Friday is meet-up night in my otherwise sparse social round? Want to prove, if only to myself, that I'm not just an armchair fan, but just the prospect of an evening of that morgue-like atmosphere is enough to make anyone lose the will to live. And it's live on the box - I can Sky+ it and get to go to the pub and watch the match later while sitting by my cosy fire. No brainer really. There, decision made.

I think it's a poncey way of saying "picking ones brains". It's a cheek to be honest. Basically they want those being made redundant to train up those left to do their work before they leave the department.
Puma - pub sounds good and they might have the game on there, no?

We won’t think any less of you if you Sky Plus it.
Sure as it’s not on Irish tv I think a lot of Leinster fans will miss it, Setanta are showing deferred highlights.
I’m probably heading down to Cork tomorrow so I’ll miss it too.
It’s a good team though.

Certainly is a cheek but they expect those leaving to do it. If I was leaving the department all together I would refuse <sticksuptwofingerstothedepartment>

Puma, if I were you, I'd go, just to see the future Scottish 10-12 axis on display for Embra - 18-yr old Harry Leonard and 20-yr old Matt Scottperthshirepuma wrote:Hi, Cari. I'm caught in a quandary. Rava - well I refused on the grounds that I'm going to a department that doesn't operate Flexi time, so I can't afford to accumilate credit by travelling to London as I won't be able to use it up. So to them!

I think I may have to give it a miss possible. Any idea how much tickets are? What day is it on?
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Tickets are only €20, apparently there have been a good few returned.
It’s on Friday night though, that’s the only thing about it.

Oh that could actually suit. Whether I'd get a half day from work Im not sure about though.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
As, I will defo be going to Warriors v Leinster, league and cup - Firhill is much more lively. And in my humble opinion Duncan Weir is Scotland's future 10 - well worth the entrance money to see that laddie play.
