First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Doug Howlett above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Good aft'noon all

Hope everyone is fine and dandy this bright and cold Friday afternoon. Had middle daughters Christmas concert this morning, was fabulous, the kids all did brilliantly and you could feel how proud and emotional all the mums and dads were at seeing their little ones. We also raised £150 over the last 3 weeks to buy each of the three reception classes a digital camera for Christmas that they can use for projects, and they were given to the teachers today which was grand.

At work now until 10 so will miss tonights Heino offering which is a bit annoying, but I am sure that I can get updates in here. Great to see Big Bob back for us tomorrow against Racing. Team we have selected looks like we are going to have a real lash at it with no real pressure on us as to all intents and purposes we have no chance in the pool. Looking forward to the game now.

Well let me unload then.

For the last year I have tried my hardest to do what is right for this forum. I have pushed tiredlessly for promotion and to get new members on board. I have fought other peoples battles when they were persecuted. I have fought countless fires on numerous sections because some posters think its okay to continuously break rules.

I have managed to get exclusives for this site, along with some amazing prizes for competitions which I am not even allowed to win.

I receive abuse like none of the other admins or mods because I am the most visible on this forum. I have had incredibly insulting comments made about me on this and other forums. I work non stop to make this a better place for every single poster and continue to allow it to grow and remain fresh.

And yet at every turn I find people waiting to cut me down. Stab me in the back. Sending spiteful messages, calling me corrupt blah blah blah.

I havent worked in 18 months because every job I apply for I am told that I am overqualified for and will walk out of at a better offer. The jobs I am qualified for are just not out there or are filled immediately by recruiters chums. I thought that the work that I put in on here would lead to something but alas no. All its led to is me becoming more and more disillusioned with things. I try and make this a place for people to enjoy.

Well apparently people enjoy knocking me down.

After 18 months of this bull, I have finally had enough of it. Insult me all you want - make me feel worse than I already am. Say what you want about me. Because, as of now, I officially dont care.

Well you did ask.

Awww Hobo Hug That's real horrible about the job situation, guess all you can do is keep trying. Something will turn up in the end. It's a hugely positive sign that you're even getting interviews.

Plus, we appreciate you here on the rugby forum at least, those who don't see the good work you're putting in, or don't appreciate it, aren't worth bothering yourself about imo.

Hobo don't the others just take the pish out of you with panache and style of the Pub regs? Remember the higher the monkey climbs the tree the barer his harse. It's only those that are up there that can take flak. Also people who stare at a computer screen for too long typing drivel are of a certain mindset. I've never told you before as I don't do sucking up to authority, but I believe you are doing a fine job and what better CV than this creation thumbsup

I'd give you a job if I could but will certainly give a reference if you want.

Well I'm a fine one!

Tell folks to feel free to unload and then disappear just before the floodgates open!

Adam,

That is so horrible. I don't know what kind of people these are but they certainly aren't worth taking abuse from.

I really hope that all the Admins etc back each other and just remove anyone who is abusive from the forum.

There Is absolutely no excuse for giving anyone abuse. If someone is unhappy they can bring it to the attention of the Admins but if they don't like the rules then show them the door.

Hobo, I don't know what to say.

I'll say this: I hope you realise that for every rude or abusive poster who has contacted you, there are a dozen posters who have nothing but gratitude and admiration towards you and the work you've done to create this forum and continue to improve it. They may be silent, but they are the majority. Hug

+1

The real pain in the hole is that the clowns who dish out abuse just walk away and don't give this place a second thought, and youre left to feel crappy about something you've clearly worked hard and passionately on.

As Brendan Behan once said "f**k the begrudgers" guinness

A Langer can be defined as being an arseface or a dickhead! It's a nicer word than both. Mickado acted the langer when he did something with a mars bar last weekend. That is an example. It is a word that can only be used by Corkonians
