The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing pictures of Doug Howlett above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Half time.
Conversion missed.
12 v 3
Probably about 6 or 7 mins of the yellow still for the second half I would think.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ulster have had a bit of a mixed bag.
Totally dominant first 20 mins with us kicking for corners instead of taking the points. Then we seemed to lose confidence and try to kick penalties.
After the yellow we had a penalty from a scrum in the middle of the park I think inside the Aironi 22 and there seemed to be some doubt as to what to do. The commentators were trying their best not to scream "TAKE THE SCRUM!!!!!"
Thankfully the team seemed to get the message.

I wish the HC would tell sky if they can't televise all games, they should contact out to local broadcasters.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Me too Glas.
I'd have loved to have seen this match.
So chuffed that Small Parcel came on and scored. He has been playing so well and could not have done any more but I can understand why Pienaar was picked ahead of him.

Evening LDPCP!!
Marshall has improved so much this season indeed. His pass and his decision making are just at a different level compared to last season.
Lovely guy too!

Oh!
Very nearly a 5th try then but a double movement from Gilroy gives Aironi the penalty.

How do Ozzy. Had to do a speech yesterday at Court for a retiring Magistrate. Today the Clerk phoned me to ask me to speak on behalf of the defence Solicitors at the last sitting of the local Court on 22nd December. I don't know yet whether to rant and rail or be more subtle. If they think I'm going quietly though they've got another think coming.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Is the other Marshall who plays in the centre his brother MrsP? I remember him looking a good prospect when I saw him last year, but he doesn't seem to have featured this season!?!
Howdy Glas
They shutting down your local Mags then? The closed ours this year (Woking), was a relatively new building as well that had just been reburbished and is now stood empty. Mental!
I think you should have a good rant mate, I did here yesterday over some stuff. It's good for the soul!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
That's my current thinking. We knew the writing was on the wall when they spent five figures refurbishing it last year. I may be a cynic, but I think these refurbs are done to spike costs so that a Court can be cut on the name of costcutting.

No LDPCP, no relation.
Young Luke suffered a broken jaw earlier in the season just before the HEC squad had to be submitted and so he wasn't named in it. He has recovered much more quickly than anticipated. I'm sure we will see him feature in the Rabo very soon again.
Great talent although he causes great problems for the fantastic commentator Jim "Gusher" Neilly. he can not tell him apart from Nevin Spence.
You can pretty much guarentee that which ever name he uses it is the other centre in possession!

Ulster seem to have decent stock of centres there, Wallace, Marshall, Whitten, Spence, Cave. The future looks bright.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I am fed up with the beeb.
They have the Ulster score as 31 v 3 (FT) and still have the score in Cardiff as 15 v 3 but are up to date with the Quins score.
Strange that!

23-8 in the 'Diff now MrsP. Czekaj try with 73 mins on the clock. Looks like 4 match points for the Blues and 0 for 'Burgh.

I thought Edinburgh would be a bit closer, but Parks appears to have kicked them out of the game, with 20 of the Blues 25 points coming from his boot.

He is. A year or two ago when he broke through he had a typical valleys accent. All of a sudden he gets a radio show on Radio 4 and his accent moves to Uxbridge. There's nothing that's surer to get my goat than somebody forgetting their roots at the first hint of success.

Evening all, 1st thing: any joy with what's going on with the gig and tickets tomorrow?!
2nd: great night tonight with the Cardiff group: highlights were: an Edinburgh fan shouting abuse at Barnes who just stared him out and then winked at him before mocking him with a whistle blow when Cardiff converted a try!!
Lowlights: going to catch a ball which bounces off the seat infront and smacks me in the face!!
Can't wait to destroy a few valleys boyos tomorrow before dancing my socks off with Gibbo!!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Weird game tonight. Complete dominance by the pack, backs squandering a lot of possession in the first half. Just no idea what to do with it!
But once we got our first we settled down a bit and given Aironi offered nothing (really not a good team at all!) our domination in possession and territory eventually told. I guess we thought we have to just take them through the phases and eventually they will tire. It must be so exhausting to defend like that the whole game.
Paddy Jacksons try was the highlight- and having a fired up Marshall to come on is a great option.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'm furious, they didn't even show the highlights of the Ulster match on S4C. From here though a Leinster Toulouse final would be something. They are the two reams that look a cut above currently. Harlequins had the edge in the scrums but just failed to live with a Toulouse who looked very much at home on the Stoop.

Hi all. As a Wasp maybe I shouldn't say this, but I know what I saw. Both Toulouse tries tonight were forward passes (2 for their first try). Clancy seemed all at sea reffing the game tbh.
