First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Chris Paterson, Steve Thompson and Jonny Wilkinson above the bar!

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Evening Cari, I'm fine thanks lass, hope you are too. Go steady with that blackcurrant warning Very Happy

It's blowing a gale up here! Daren't put my milk bottles out tonight, think they'll be blown to smithereens!! I drove back from my mums this afternoon, straight into a headwind. Couldn't get my little car above 50 mph! I normally do 70 mph on that bit... though if Ozzy is about that's 59.9 mph... honest... Run

Evening all.

I'm watching Worlds Strongest Man.

I am blaming my Dad entirely for this. We used to watch it every year when I was a lot younger and we'd all choose a bloke we thought would go on to win it, but I hadn't bothered to watch it for years. Four evenings in a row of watching it now though and I'm hooked, typical! Rolling Eyes

Hound, did Wasps actually sign Ed O'Donaghue? It was reported a while back but I don't see him on your "Players" list and seeing you have now signed Du Plessis reminded me about him?

Ed O'Donoghue played for Wasps on Monday against Gloucester.

Yup E O'D did play. He's not exactly setting the world alight, but neither are the whole team.

But an entire back row lost to injury, or injury retirement (Worsley, Ward-Smith and Rees), plus skipper John Hart out for 4 months, has left us as easy pickings at the breakdown at the moment. Filipo,Poff, Cannon, Launchberry and Billy Vunipola are also crocked - we are really suffering from a decimated pack. Will Matthews (better than Warburton at the same age) is also not good.

Our backs can play some great stuff, but we just haven't got enough of a pack to secure quality ball.

Tiggers away in two weeks time Sad

Worcs this weekend and they are strong up front. It ain't looking good for us at the moment.

Morning pub Smile

Gawd, our managers are full of double standards. We are expected to put in full days this week. Yesterday one of them strolled in at 10:15. Then he has the gall to feck off five hours later (having disappearef for an hour and a half for lunch) wishing us all a Happy New Year

Morning all.

All of 4 people in on my side of the office today, though it's not 9.30 yet so a few more will trickle in. The building work is in is open 24/7/365 though so work are probably paying the same amount whether we're in or not.

I used to think it was a ploy to reduce holidays. The partners used to tell us the office would open 2 days between Xmas and new year, but we could all keep holidays back if we wanted. They wanted everybody to use less holidays in the year expecting that we would all keep them back so they could in fact close the office. They didn't bank on pig headed insubordinates like me, oh no.

I was catching up on this week's The Rugby Paper and noted that London Scottish have signed Canada back rower, Adam Kleeberger. You may recall the Canadian player at the RWC with the big red bushy beard. That’s him, although minus the beard now.

He had an immediate impact for Scottish earning a MotM award for his performance in the Exiles first away league win of the season at Moseley at the weekend. I’m sure Asbo will be very happy with that signing.

Ah man I love beards. Tis a close call between Eaton and Kleeburger amongst those just for sheer facial hair growth. Medard's is still my fave though.

That bird is amazing!!

How can something with a brain the size of a walnut have enough processing power to perform like that?

The memory to reproduce those sounds so acurately let alone the control over the movement of it's vocal chords.

Just amazing!!!!

I see Mr O'Connell has been named Ireland's captain for the 6 Nations. No surprise really. Rumours up here are Paddy Wallace was asked first but turned it down fearing the headlines in the southern papers.

Hope everyone's having a wicked post-Xmas week, and if I'm not in here between now and tomorrow

Happy New Year y'all!!!

Good grief. Just out of the cop shop - girl arrested for possession of a knife. I won't ask you to guess where she had hidden it The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub - Page 3 3754190863

Not long back in from a lovely lunch with Penfro Hug

Just seen that Stevo is facing a late fitness test due to a back problem, not good for Scarlets at all!
