The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Chris Paterson, Steve Thompson and Jonny Wilkinson above the bar!
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

I confronted them with the truth.
I said that Whitten should leave Ulster and join Munster as he could play with a better team. Lots of Ulster posters discussed the idea of the move. When I pointed out that none of them batted an eyelid at the suggestion Munster were a better team they all said that in a full strenght head to head they'd expect Munster to win.
I love the truth*

Penfro - That trolley one is bonkers! Spoke to my sister just now and she was out in the storms. She said there were some power lines down and it was a bit scary driving on her round, but she's all right.

Porntoy (yes Im aware I called you Porn Toy, it was a freudian slip)
They seem to be unnaturally confident of a win. You should have seen when I suggested Tigers might want it more

As long as my post was delivered If you arte looking for a new w/m you'd do a lot worse than these guys LINK. Just up the road and they offer FREE Delivery and Installation and I quote "We're confident we have the very best deal, but if you think one of our competitors has, call us today on 02920 231166 and we'll match their offer. We check our prices every day against Comet, Curry's and John Lewis to make sure we're offering you the best price" Had our TV from there and they were much cheaper than 'big boys'Cari wrote:Penfro - That trolley one is bonkers! Penfro - oh yes, she still did her round, just got diverted from one road cause the power lines were down and the rozzers wouldn't let anyone through. It's up to my landlord what happens - he might get a whole new washer (hopefully) or get someone to have a look at it first.

Glas - not sure...he can be mischievous when he wants to be...
Got the new Rugby World mag. There's good photo spread in there about the weather coincidentally...has some great photos of extreme weather at rugby matches. Also they look at who can replace Shane, and interviews with Matt Rhys and Ianto. Not bad bedtime reading I suppose.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
A man with a winking problem is applying for a position as a sales representative for a large firm. The interviewer looks over his papers and says, "This is phenomenal. You've graduated from the best schools; your recommendations are wonderful and your experience is unparalleled. Normally, we'd hire you without a second thought. However, a sales representative has a highly visible position and we're afraid that your constant winking will scare off potential customers. I'm sorry ... we can't hire you."
"But wait," he said. "If I take two aspirin, I'll stop winking!"
"Really? Great! Show me!"
So the applicant reaches into his jacket pocket and begins pulling out all sorts of condoms: red condoms, blue condoms, ribbed condoms, flavoured condoms; finally, at the bottom, he finds a packet of aspirin. He tears it open, swallows the tablets and stops winking.
"Well," said the interviewer, "that's all well and good but this is a respectable company and we will not have our employees womanising all over the country!"
"Womanising? What do you mean? I'm a happily married man!"
"Well then, how do you explain all these condoms?"
"Oh, that," he sighed. "Have you ever walked into a chemists winking, and asked for aspirin?"

Hi all. I hope everyone is OK and safe. Some poor beggar in Tunbridge Wells copped it when a tree fell on his van.
While it was wet and windy here inondon earlier, it was. a mere breeze compared to what hit most of the regz
I've got a day off tomoz to sort a few things out. Looking forward to that

Have to say been dealing with the RFU and the East Midlands Rugby Union a lot today. Really lovely people who are passionate about rugby.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Anyone see about the damage caused to the Millenium Stadium roof due to the weather.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Evening all. Hope all those in storm areas are ok and that munsty got back safely. I wrote something on the American football section if anyone is interested. I suppose the team in question are a lot like Ulster. A fantastic season last year and despite some good play at times this year have flattered to deceive for the most part.
Here it is.

Leave it closed and grow some grass. They have massive grow-lamps at the MS. Was really imrpressed on the Tour.

I thought it was having the lid closed that caused the problem with the pitch, no?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Condensation on the ball can be a bit of a problem with the lid closed but if they have grow lamps sure grass growth shouldn't be an issue? They could look at teams across the water in America where there are many indoor stadiums with grass. I know cost would be a big issue but I'm surprised there are not many stadiums with retractable roofs in Europe.

Just saw a bonkers amateur video on the news showing an industrial bin getting blown down a street in Scotland. Looked like a cardboard box rather than a big metal bin.

Just a pity that it could be the crew that suffers though.

We have 3 wheelie bins at home, rubbish, recycling and garden waste, and the wife phoned me at work earlier to say that they were all over and down the road. She went out and put them back in our garden and weighted them down but obviously not enough as she's phoned again to say that one is over and off and she's not bothering to retrieve it yet as she has nothing to weight it down with and it is still really windy!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
aaaaargh stupid fuse box
Got back to the flat and it had tripped, thought it was just my bedroom light so changed that, all the lights working, sorted.
then the tv wouldn't work, the heaters won't work, the sockets aren't working and the RDC switch had tripped. We've figured out that it's the bathroom radiator that's causing it to do it, but am a bit worried about going near the bathroom now as it means a current isn't earthed properly (I think!).
Tured the bathroom radiator off and everything else is working okay, tis all a bit worrying though. Going to have to have a shower in a freezing room now later (that is if I'm brave enough!)

Anyone else see Ugo Monye saying that he hopes to spend his entire career at Quins and talking about how rare a commodity "loyalty" is nowadays. He's shot up in my estimations.
Hope Munsty isn't on that boat thats lost!!! Cymroglan, hows all with you. You must get yourself to a meet up soon.

Which of these make more sense:
1 - Study at 7, go running at 8.
2 - Go running at 7, study at 8 (probably 8.30 by time I have shower)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Is the dressing gown so you don't get your clothes wet from all the splash back from the dunking stool then?
Quite a task to take on alone, no?
