The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of John Hayes, Craig Gilroy,
Niall O'Connor, Ben Skirving and Jonny May above the bar!

No, Thom. I just watched his interview on Sky - understood every word of it, and not having been to Cork for nearly three years now ( ) my ear is most definitely not in tune.
Yeah roysh Kia. But you are posh English.

127 hours is an incredible film. Such an amazing story. And young Danny does brilliantly to bring it to the screen.

Did you see the Ravens intercept in their own endzone T, pure quality.

I did, Pete. Paulie would have been proud of that catch. Hines wouldn't be that good a linebacker. Lacks pace. 4 minutes to go. Potential field goal attempt......

Long way out though T.
They've gone for a 4th an 6 play instead and it's incomplete.
Patriots ball.

Insane call, you into the American football Pete? 52 yards isn't incredibly long. You would have expected him to get it.

Not been so much into in recent years as I used to T.
Used to watch it as a kid on channel 4 on a Sunday night. Went in about 1990 to Wembley to see the New Orleans Saints play the LA Raiders, and loved watching the 49ers when Montana and then Steve Young were running things.
Always try to watch the Superbowl, but have got back into the regular season games a bit this season.

If the Ravens are going to win it, this drive is their last chance. If they cough it up, the Patriots won't give it back to them again.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I got into it in the last 2 years. Went to the International Series game this year as the team I support were there. I find it very enjoyable if something very different to the norm. It's the guy who's 6ft 2, with the Fu Manchu it's Flacco time. I backed the Ravens to win, I think they can do it. Might happen in Overtime though.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ravens need to get a lot closer to get the field goal for the tie though.
Great feet from the wide receiver there along the touchline. Must be in range now.

Man City c Spurs game. Last 35mins were incredible.
Ballotelli is feiced. He kicked the guy on the ground - in the head. Scored the winning pen but should have got a red beforehand.

Feck. More bandwagon Patriots fans in the UK/Ireland now. Cundiff obviously doesn't come from the ROG school of last minute clutch goalkicking.

Balotelli should get banned Gibbo. Was a disgrace what he did. very talented player but a complete fecking headcase!!!
T, I tend to agree with you. If you look at the slow mo he has it in two hands and both feet hit the ground one after each other before it is knocked out. You could never tell that in real time as it happens so fast but is pretty clear on the replay.

Gibbo, Bale's goal was a screamer. As was our Robbie Keane's yesterday. First time I think I have seen Keane take a shot from outside the box!

But it will. I was listening to talksport and there were Man City fans phoning in giving Stan Collymore abuse for him saying that he felt Balotelli should get banned for it.

Then got pulled down in the 5th minute of injury time to win a penalty which he scored to win the game 3-2.
Spurs fans rightly feel a little aggrieved right now.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Meh. It's Balotelli.
Any other player it would be a disgrace, but this is just the latest manifestation of some kind of deep-seated personality disorder- he's a manchild.
You don't castigate a five year-old for acting like that in the national media, you just sit him down in the naughty corner and explain that he's been bad.
Unfortunately this immaturity is not fleeting!

He's a grown man earning hundreds of thousands of pounds a week, and is a role model to 5 year olds Notch. I am sorry but you don't treat him like a child, you treat him like an adult and he should be banned, for a substantial amount of games.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yeah, of course he should and will be. But he is certainly not a grown man in anything other than biological years. Certainly in psychological terms, no, absolutely not grown-up at all.
I think he thinks and acts like a child. Lacking the insight to visualise how his actions affect others.

Aye. He'll be banned, fined. Then he'll come back and do something equally mental. It might be a good thing or a bad thing. Who knows. You can't control him or change him anyway. Maybe his mother can; maybe that's who the FA need to bring in to deal with this situation.
You know he's paid over £300,000 in club fines since he joined City?? He's amusing and horrifying in equal measure

That probably equates to 2 weeks wages for him though Notch, so it probably doesn't even make a dent. To be fair, I think even if they fined him £3 million he wouldn't be able to dial down the craziness for long.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I think you could take his whole salary and he'd probably move into a council house and become a masked vigilante, patrolling and protecting his new neighbourhood. No doubt missing a number of training sessions as a result. Before getting himself sent off in a key game and being photographed in a Man Utd jersey the next day.
And so the soap opera would roll on, and on...
