First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Rhys Thomas, Ben Castle, Andy Fenby and Bill McLaren above the bar!

Because I'm helping to make brownies with a friend for a CU event so we'll be in the kitchen of his house.

I do know it's football, but I have gotten to the stage where I'd just much prefer to be playing sport than watching it. Plus, last Saturday, we played a game of football and it was probably the best spirit I've seen sport played in. Really encouraged me that sport can be good in that sense.

I don't think many folks would miss out on playing sport to watch it would they? Especially not a team sport.

Not if they are already involved but a lot just don't get involved in the first place.

Cuthbert's in, too. If Ireland have any sense they'll be testing him under the high ball and kicking in behind him. George North's not too clever when he's kicked to, so why risk another winger who's worse?

Afternoon pub cuppa

Just been out and realised what a disgraceful state my car is in! Shocked Blydi gritters. Think I may treat to her to trip to the valeters this afternoon, it's too cold to do it myself.

And I now have a start day for my new job. Next Wednesday Very Happy Going to have to dig out my work clothes again, I've not needed them for 3 months! And try and remember how to set my alarm clock... Erm

Also I'm missing all the Wales/Ireland game because I'm playing a soccer match. It#s the reason why iPlayer,RTE player and their ilk were created

Yea will do Gibbo. As far as I understand it, it isn't life threatening but Keith feels that he should be there instead of playing a rugby match

Thats the mark of a man. The chance to step into BODs shoes and deliver a top class performance cementing his place in the Irish team. He says "sod that, family is most important".

Whatever about being a top class centre he is already gonna be a top class Dad. I believe his relationship and his girlfriends pregnancy influenced him against a move to France.

When I was over in Cardiff I was fed leeks at Penfros - how stereotypical Very Happy (though very very yummy).

We were tempted to give him spuds and turnips but Mam felt that such staple foods were ill fitting when we had company.

Leeks aren't actually Welsh Staggy. They were introduced by the Romans. They became a symbol of Wales later.

Its not as similar to German as you would think stag. I speak both and German is much easier to learn and understand than Dutch.

If you can speak Dutch, you can understand a lot in German, Swedish and Norwegian.

Maybe Dutch would have been easier to learn if you hadn't already learnt German, Billy. You wouldn't have had German as a frame of reference.
