First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Rhys Thomas, Ben Castle, Andy Fenby and Bill McLaren above the bar!

Its a great thing to be able to make yourself understood and have other languages.

I had a holiday a few years back where we all decided to talk in Irish for 3 weeks. It was actually really good.

I love having my German and would love to add French properly to it. But couldnt imagine that I could properly learn more.

I studied French for three years while I was at university and I'd got quite good in that time, I wish I'd stuck with it.

The problem with German (I imagine you learnt high German) is that not everyone speaks high German throughout German. There is a world of difference in the accents and dialects throughout Germany. Austrian and Swiss German are also different entirely.

Top 10 reasons for being Dutch:

1. You can get arrested for growing plants, but not for smoking them.
2. You can make jokes about the Belgians and still drink their beer. They pay you back by selling you illegal fireworks and let you blow up small parts of your country.
3. You're exactly like the Germans, except that nobody hates you.
4. You think you are a world power, but everyone else thinks Copenhagen is your capital.
5. You get to insult people and defend yourself by saying it's a national tradition.
6. You can put your finger in a dyke and it will save your country
7. You can legally kill yourself. You can legally be killed.
8. You live in the most densly populated country in Europe, and still you've never seen your neighbours.
9. If the economy is bad, blame the Germans. If a war is started, blame the Germans. If you loose your keys, blame the Germans.
10. Bikes are public property. Locks are a challenge.

Billy, I feel sorry for you. Clare are awful at pretty much every sport.....

There's an Irish player called Eamon Zayed (Libyan international who has played with Derry City and Bray) who is playing for Persepolis in Iran. In his second game, in front of 90,000 people he gets a hat-trick. Good way to endear yourself to new fans!

Get your money on George North to be top try scorer in the 6N folks. He's my tip.

In other news my local has taken up my suggestion for a SW beer festival. 12 different beers are being ordered. It will be like having the CVI in Stanmore (minus the maniac locals Wink )

Could be worse. You could be playing rugby in these temperatures:

Edinburgh = 3/4 degrees c.
Paris = minus1 degree c.
Dublin will be a tropical 9 degrees!

Oh, anyone watching the U20s match in a bit?
