The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Jonathan Davies (JD2), and all of the weekend's 6 Nations debutants above the bar!

Work until 1.00pm today, then errrrrrrr rugby .
It's too cold to go out without a real purpose so I'll stay in with a vengeance instead.
I reckon this weekend is going to throw up a surprise result, I'm leaning towards an Ireland victory or an England defeat......
What you up to bud?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
A few errands to run this morning, then it's rugby on telly for the rest of the day. Then tomorrow, thanks to Penfro, I'm taking my dad to watch Wales v Scotland for his birthday!
I've gone for Italy, France and Wales to win this weekend, but you never know with the Six Nations - that's why it's such a great tournament. Italy v England's the toughest one to call, for me. Even one game in, it's difficult to say what sort of rugby the new England want to play.

Bore da Glas, how's lambing?
Lucky, Penfro is a feckin good bloke, sounds like a great buffday treat.
I'm not sure about any of the games to be honest, but I would say a Wales win is probably the banker after last weekend's performance.
Like you say, you just never know.....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Morning
Went to Ye Olde Arms Park last night to watch Blues v Connacht with Dreamer (courtesy of Penfro). Really enjoyed myself. It was great standing on a terrace for a change, even though I lost all feeling in my toes by the end. Good crowd in there, and the match wasn't bad. Connacht's no.11 scored a superb try at the end giving them the bonus point. I also over NOC and Connacht's fullback too. Bonus! went to the pub afterwards with a couple of guys we'd got chatting to afterwards which rounded off a nice evening.
Hope everyone's well and looking forward to the matches later.
Swanny - glad to hear you're enjoying your new job

PJ - I think she's doing OK from what I can gather.
Lucky - yeah it was actually. I'd go to more games like that if I could. hope they put more matches on like that. I've got some photos (no idea what they've come out like) so I'll bung them on FB later.

'New England' jeez, I hope we don't become like New Labour. Before you know it we'll be letting every Tom, Dick and Harry into the team and have no influence in Europe.
Errr, hang on a minute

Late kick-off for Ireland tonight, hope it goes ahead. If it doesn't happen it will be played on the 2nd of March.

I reckon it will be called off Notch. Even under pitch heating can't cope when it's consistently -5C. My weather app reckons it's -7C here at the moment.
I'm off to find my welding gear. There's a brass monkey outside with a bit of a problem

Key moment of the game; Dragons work incredibly hard for 10 minutes to peg us back to 15-12 ahead, miss the restart entirely and instantly concede a try.

Disappointing billy. Nice guys finish... I can't remember the rest. I am sure you will reap a suitable karmic reward in the future though
It's another fairly Ulster-centric post from myself () but everyone should see this try.

If there's been a better team try in the Pro 12 this season I'd like to see it. Note I'm not talking rhetorically. I actually would like to see some of the other contenders for try of the season so far!

As far as I know, the SdF does not have under soil heating. The playing area has been covered and then hot air ventilated since last weekend;it was uncovered in parts yesterday afternoon to allow the lines to be painted(along with the ads I soppose) As it is, there's no talk of postponement. But I am in France....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Mick I was reading that the temperature of the pitch has been kept at around 2 degrees due to the covers but they are very worried what will happen when the covers are removed as they are expecting the temperature to have dropped to -10 by kick off. A decision is to be taken 45 minutes before kick off as to whether the game can go ahead.

Rather balmy 3 degrees here - something of a reversal of the usual status quo. Think you are about the same, Rava?

That's a very good try, Notch - but you have to bear in mind the standard of the opposition.

Yeah, I'm not really sure how the Dragons didn't create more. Or do more in the game. We were at 25% at best- normally when we play like that we get nothing from the match. It was bizarre to get the BP win,.
Dragons were unlucky.

It hasn't been a great season for us, Notch. There was a real spark to our play in the latter stages of last season, but it's been missing for much of this.

Willy, thats a bit harsh mate. Suarez has maintained he is innocent. I am not a fan but i can imagine that if he truely feels that he is innocent then he feels that Evra lied... Would you shake the hand of someone who you feel lied and labelled you a racist? Conversly, if you were Evra, would you want to shake the hand of someone who racially abused you?
