The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Sergio Parisse and Owen Farrell above the bar.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, please. It's light at seven when I set off for work these days, the blackbirds (amongst others) are singing as I cycle to work... it's good for the soul.

Stag and Kiwi on the job front. Also congrats to Prop on coming to his decision
I won't be going to Limerick at Easter
I blame poor trade in November and December , pre-planned trips to Dublin and London in March/May and HMRC .

Wee Billy from Glesga always wanted to look cool.
His friend told him that he needed a good designer pair of trainers to go with his shell suit.
Billy saved up all his Giro money and all the money he got back from returning his empty bottles of Ginger and finally managed to get himself a pair of brilliant white trainers to go with his shell suit.
Proudly, he strutted down the street calling out to all the passers-by "See ma new trainers? Stonkin, eh?"
One fine upstanding gentleman pointed out that they were indeed a fine pair of trainers but was young Billy aware that he had a lace undone?
Billy scornfully retorted that it was part of being cool to have a trailing lace and that on the sole of the trainer there were instructions for the wearer to do such a thing.
When asked for proof of this instruction, Billy look off his trainer and held it upside down for the disbeliever to read.
"There y'are! It clearly says ....
Taiwan !!!!!

The Dragons v Blues match that was called off earlier in the season due to a waterlogged pitch has been rescheduled - for Thursday 15th March.
This is clearly an anti-Dragons conspiracy. They don't want us to win so they schedule the game for a weekday evening.

Thursday kickoff’s aren’t great Luckless, but we had one last week and it wasn’t the replay of a postponed game, it was a regular season fixture. Not a fan really, if I go to a match at night I’d like to have the option of staying out for pints after, I can’t go to work with a hangover, it’s bad enough as it is!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Have they said why it's on the Thursday?
Sure that is still in the 6 nations gap isn't it?
Will it disadvantage the Dragons more than the Blues?

It'll be annoying for both sets of fans, but my main complaint is that we'll probably have a smaller crowd due to it being on a Thursday. It was a Friday night game originally and the clubhouse was packed beforehand. It won't be packed on the 15th, I'm sure.

Mick now THAT is an outstanding short term signing. Munster signed two feckin nobodies to cover centre this year.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Interesting that Ulster were lambasted for signing Terblanche on a short term contract as cover for the injured Payne while the Thorn signing is being seen as "Epic"

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Well yes Rava. Leinster are less reliant on foreign players so logically a player like Thorn coming in to cover injury isn't seen as a problem.
There is a perception that Ulster have been overly reliant on the foreigners and many of the Irish guys they have are only "Irish" as their parents or grandparents are Irish - see Adam Darcy, Tom Court, Isaac Boss, Dan Tuohy etc. Then when you have Afoa, Muller, Wannenburg, Payne, Terblanche, Pienaar, Danielli, Diack etc on the books it just furthers this perception that they aren't developing players (which I know isn't true).
Maybe its unfair but there is a definite perception; not just amongst Irish fans; that Ulster are extremely reliant on foreign signings.
