First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Tommy Bowe, Ryan Jones, Dan Newton and birthday boy Prop above the bar.

Just seen that Dominic Day is joining Bath from the Scarlets next season. Seems to be an awful lot of players heading out of Wales.

The regions are cash strapped Oz. Melon said he was offered 60% of what he's currently on to re-sign with The Blues. Run he went.

Last one out, turn the lights off.

Whistle

Seriously, it will affect Wales' training camps next season if the players don't get release clauses in their contracts.

Part of the reason Wasps have been in a tailspin is that the level of injuries has meant there hasn't been enough fit squad members to do meaningful training drills.

Things look dire for Wasps at the moment Hound that is for sure. Would be a massive loss to the Premiership if they went down, but they need something to turn their fortunes around quickly otherwise I can see it happening.

Apparently London Irish will be announcing a 'big' signing tomorrow. My money is on either Stephen Jones or Richard Kingi from the Rebels, neither of whom I would describe as 'big' in the grand scheme of things.

I have it on good authority that it will be neither of the two players I mentioned who will be announced tomorrow.

Oz, good luck with whoever it is.

One thing I don't get is that, Irish having given them the platform to launch their rugby careers, the Armitage brothers have decided to leave the club for Toulon. Guy being the latest.

That must be a kick in the teeth for the coaching staff.

On the Wasps side of things, we have lots of players coming back from injury now. Launchberry was terrific when he came off the bench against Exeter. I hope, and expect, that we'll finish ahead of Worcester. Not very ambitious admittedly, but it will be enough given where we are.

Hound, Wasps are away to Sale, Saints, Quins & Bath, home to Sarries, Irish and Newcastle - I think you ought to take 4 points from the last of thse, and maybe 4 from the second last, but the rest I see as 0s or 1s. Overtaking Wuss could be a stretch imo

As - the players coming back will make a difference for us. Losing our VW strikeforce is depriving us of try scoring ability though.

We'll see.

I have it on good authority that it's a tighthead, which we definitely need to be honest.

In relation to the Armitages, Steffon and Toby Booth fell out, but I have no idea what over, which is what prompted his exit, and Delon's issues at present are well documented and a move may be the best thing for him. Guy is a strange one as coming through the academy he was well thought of, but in all honesty I've not seen anything from him which leads me to believe that he will be as good as Delon or Steffon. That said, talking to their father over on The Craic, it would seem that Guy has been a little frozen out by TB for some reason, and there has not been offered a new contract by the club. Now John (their father) is not one to criticise the club and is always realistic about his boys and their form/achievements, so I suspect that he is telling it as it is on this occasion as well.

There are other noises coming out from various sources that TB's man management has been less than perfect over the past 2 years, which is a worry going forward as we are losing players by the bucketful at present.

Yeah Oz, we've heard that TB has become a bit of a tyrant. Young Guy A tainted because he's from the same stock as the 'defectors'.

Great club are Irish, I hope you guys 'keep it goin'. TB being touted as a possible England head coach a couple of years back may have gone to his head a bit. Fans of other clubs have said that he seems to encourage a nasty streak in his players.

Not sure about that.

Wish you and yours well, and hopefully we will have (more) pints and a yack this year.

Morning all,

egg egg mug for all the hungover regs.

I went to a screening of a doco about the Chch earthquakes and aftermath in Brixton last night, they ran overtime and I missed last tube, wound up sleeping on a mate's couch.

Thank you M&S Covent Garden for being open at 8am. And thank you work for providing good showers and towels.

Some good changes, Ozzy - although I didn't think Owen Farrell had played much rugby at ten?

Farrell has played the last 2 seasons at 10 and lead Saracens to the play off final win against Tigers last year in that shirt luckless. I have no concerns about him in the 10 shirt whatsoever, as I have said in here before.

This game will be won and lost up front. For as much straw that's been stuffed up the Welsh backs' arses on the past week, I actually think England are (more than) a match for us there with this team. As ozzy says, game on.
