Yep, you have 3 tries on us there alright. But have won with the same amount of TBPs as us. Seems like you’re wearing yourselves out scoring so many tries that you can only manage 10 wins in the league this year Wink

But the French were no different and they didn't get pinged as much.

I agree that Pearson let a lot of that stuff go but then would whistle when we drove over the ball, won it cleanly and then fell over.

Lots of "holding on" not penalised too.

Wouldn't it be gas if McFadden won that kicking award, given that he's not even our first choice kicker. Although after the first miss from Johnny last weekend, Ferg might well be taking them in the future!

Morning all.

Great afternoon out to watch the France vs Ireland game with Asbo, Dreamer & Hughie yesterday, an enjoyable game to watch for the neutral. On the balance of play over the match Ireland were lucky to get the draw, but both teams should be disappointed with how they played at times.

And cheers to Asbo's better half for a lovely Sunday roast dinner last night too.

Just in case our Ulster contingent think that the media have it in for only them –

Here’s the headline from the Leinster game this weekend (we won 6-22)

Madigan drags limp Blues over the line

Here’s the headline for the Munster match this weekend (they won 14-24)

Stand-in skipper O’Driscoll reaches Munster milestone as Reds bid to extend unbeaten run

I just think the Leinster one is a pretty stupid one, considering we've just gone 20 games unbeaten. Isn't it marvelous that MOD has managed 200 caps though...

clap for Mick O'Driscoll. Can't say he had a brilliant game though.

Any win away is credible and Leinsters unbeaten run is fantastic given that most of those games have been without their frontline players.

Marshall was very good on Friday night as was Pienaar.

Question for ye – what do pundits mean when they say line speed? I understand the difference between a blitz defense and a drift defense and I understand when you play a blitz you have to be quick. But is there any advantage of having quick line speed when you’re playing a drift? i.e. is there any need to move quickly, sideways? Or have I missed the point altogether…?

To put it more simply, is line speed only a component of a blitz defense?

Mick you need line speed whether you defend in to out or blitz. The whole point is to stop the attack on or before the gainline.

There have been some terrible games between you in the 6nations (Clash of the Spoilers) however something tells me this one will be a corker. I don't think the losing coach will be around after the 6nations.

Thanks Rodders. I think i've got it, Lines speed when defending in to out is about getting defenders out wide (fast) so the opposition cannot get past the gainline.

Afternoon pub, pint of cuppa please.

I'm cream crackered today! Spent the whole weekend clearing out the attic bedrooms and cellar at my mums house. At least she got a skip this time so no more trips to the tip, just open the front door and throw! Smile Just the shed to go now... Erm

I found 5 glass demijohns in her cellar. Any regs into home brewing? All yours if you want them, they seem to be in good nick.

Well sort of yeah. The main thing is that you move up then out as a line or come up diagonally. If you just drift sideways then the opposition will get across the gainline too easy and you'll be on the back foot.

Great afternoon out to watch the France vs Ireland game with Asbo, Dreamer & Hughie yesterday, an enjoyable game to watch for the neutral. On the balance of play over the match Ireland were lucky to get the draw, but both teams should be disappointed with how they played at times.

And cheers to Asbo's MUCH-better half for a lovely Sunday roast dinner last night too.

Kiwi, you lucky devil!!

It was made for me, he just happened to tag along Ok!

And you missed out on enjoying some of Asbo's finest Whisky too Hughie Wink
