First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has teleported itself inside Millenium Stadium this week to see if the men in red can manage a Slam. There's also TVs showing the other 6N matches, the U20s and Womens' matches, Super XV, the "Classic" match and LV= Cup action.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Mervyn Davies and Jock Hobbs above the bar!

Yet Perp gave up a ton of penalties, i.e. they didn't trust their defence to put tackles in so decided to infringe.

ha but so did the Scarlets!

defence was pretty much a secondary factor in that game, and tis one of the best ones I've ever seen.

Yes. It was the confidence robbing you gave us which spurred us to battle out a win in Twickers. The rest was plain sailing as Lucky says.

They defended superbly without too, it's why they won. They conceded the least amount of points. Munster's defence is what got them to the HC 1/4s. Defence wins you games.

That's why Shane Williams was so special. He sparked the Welsh team in the 03 World Cup. They played as they did in the 05 Slam because Shane and others could play the offload game. Whatever the nay sayers say about the 6N, everybody was trying to develop an offloading game for a couple of years after that until Gatland put an end to it in 08, again everybody followed suit. NH international rugby is a soft target, but this 6N has been one of the toughest fought, closest, most intense for years. the SH do take notice of what happens in the 6N, they have to to try and keep ahead of the game. The next five years are going to be huge to the future of rugby.

This 6 Nations has been excellent - said as someone who is indifferent to it all.

I've greatly enjoyed England's emergence in this tournament. For me it is what I will remember the tournament for. Ireland were hit and miss but when all was said and done it was them who scored the most point and most tries. Wales brought so much physicality and pace while the French were typically French. Scotland lost every match yet even still Denton, Rennie and Hogg were amazing newcomers to the tournment. Match day in Rome continues to be a special occasion and I cannot wait to go there next year. Nearly every match was treated as a must win game and I can only think of a handful of games with more than 7 points in the difference.

It's Ireland who delivered good attacking rugby when there was a gulf in class between the opposition but when games were tight, we didn't have the bottle to turn that draw/narrow defeat into a win Sad

I can't agree with that. If they'd been typically French they'd have played some of the best rugby of the tournament. The problem is that they've been so un-French.

Really disappointed in France and St Andre. Id say the French fans are non too happy. Not about the results, but how they played. Or didnt play.

Two hours of CPR! Did mere minutes of it at First Aid Training and it's tough. Paramedics are honest to god heroes.

Heroes facing massive pay cuts in some areas of the UK to allow the financial sectors largesse to continue and the top tax rate to be cut... but heroes none the less.

He could have brain damage as a result if he had to receive 2 hours of CPR. Brain cells die if they are strarved of Oxygen for that long. I would imagine they were stimulating his heart as he couldn't do it independently. To keep the blood pumping.

Positive vibes for Muamba. Hes too young and had a new life for himself in England. By all acounts a lovely lad, who has engrossed himself in his football and had risen to play for England U21's. Not a big player, but gives everything to his team on and off the field and the fans love him for that.

Get well lad. Fight back like you did on the pitch. Come back.

Believe.

Hey Rava! I loved Rome....didn't stop the whole time but managed to grab a few beer out in the sun. Will be posting more photos up soon (trying to sift through the 400 I took!).

Happy Birthday Glas cider (it's better than cake)!!
