The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Georgia, because rugbydreamer wants the Scarlets to find a nice forward out there.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of birthday boy Hughie, Chris Budgen, Leo Cullen, Brian O'Driscoll, Paddy Wallace, Tomas O'Leary and a red faced Ronan O'Gara on the wall.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
I have to get back to Hound at the latest by the end of next week. I may have an opportunity to get away for a couple of weeks in May. So Hound, can you please hold on to that spare one a little while longer? I'll send you a "yea" or "nay" by email next week.
Depends on this new project which came up yesterday. If I get it, then it may be perfect timing and it will (ironically) free me up to slip over to the UK in about 4-5 weeks time.

Hughie, wouldn't you need to check with the butler to see if there is any more floor space available

Pete mate. I am but don't let Staggy or Thomond know. If Fez lines out at 1.45 I think I will be more confident.
We have a fantastic chance but Munster have such a record at home in the competition you just can't ignore that. I always think in games like this you start off six or nine points down. If we get a couple of early scores and ascendancy in the scrum then I believe we can do it.

Hey Rava have you drove to Limerick much? How long do you think it would take to get there tomorrow?
Want to get down there to catch the Leinster game but might stop off in Dublin for a few hours en route.
Cheers

Munster will be favourites for sure, but, I do think that this could be Ulsters time. Need to start well though as you say. If Munster start to get on top it could be a long 80 minutes.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
I think it is a head game at this stage. Ulster have good enough players and are playing well enough but they'll have to meet the intensity that Munster will bring.
If our pack can get the edge then we have a great chance but I'm a bit concerned that O'Connell will really attack our lineout and put pressure on Rory's throws.
The other big question is can Ruan and IHumph nail their place kicks.
Can't see this being high scoring.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
Rodders from Derry allow yourself 3 hours to get to Dublin. Allow another 2.5 to Limerick.
If you intend going straight from Derry then I would seriously consider Sligo/Galway and plan to see the Leinster game in Galway.

I think Ulster do need to match the Munster pack intensity, but I don't think they want to be drawn into a slugfest.
Ulster have looked good when I have seen them this season when they are getting the ball out quickly and putting it throught the hands and getting their back 3 into the game.

Thats the way I would have went Rava but Stag reckoned via dublin is the better way because of the better roads.
Have you drove both routes?

Rodders I assumed you were headed from Belfast not from Derry
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
Actually scrap the Sligo/Galway suggestion. The shortest route is via Cavan and Athlone. It's showing up about 5 hours travel for 215 miles. Via Newry and Dublin you are looking at 275 miles. You need to plan a decent stop somewhere though.

This is a good post. Harlequins beat us in the Amlin because of how they started the match. They went 14-0 up yet I think there was only a try in it at the end of the match.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
Rodders the Dublin route will be the easier one though remember you will have a couple of tolls. The M50 in Dublin needs to be Pre paid online.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Georgia
No worries stag
I don't think there's much in it Galway v Dublin.
Via Cavan and Athlone sounds like an option but yer feiced on those smaller roads if you get heavy traffic.
No rush down but catching the Leinster game would be nice.

Rodders the roads are so much better than they used to be with many sections dialled and loads of sections where you can overtake. You won't be in a great rush in any case.
There will be loads of places to stop to see the game.

Want to be down early enough to check out the pub itinary Stag recommended
I'm guessing the stout will be mighty fine in Limerick!

I see Aironi are losing their Pro 12 licence for next year.

Staggy - does that mean they won't compete in it anymore?
Afternoon All. I'm going to a Derren Brown show tomorrow night down the Bay. I've no idea what to expect, so hopefully it'll be exciting and interesting. I haven't been out down Cardiff Bay for ages actually. Tidy.

Yes. They will probably be replaced by a new franchise.
Derren Brown is very good at what he does, but I'd sit in the back unless you're feeling particularly desperate to get thrust into the limelight

I got addicted to it last year in the Stan. I love Barney Stinson's character.

Re Aironi I wonder what will happen to player contracts? Maybe it's a bit like football teams reinventing themselves. Everything just goes on as normal.

Evening all. Managed to leave my phone charger elsewhere last night, but it has been retrieved.
Breaker, you have first call on the HC 'spare'. Another Antipodean is next in line. Love it how these SH types are queueing up for tickets to the best final in world rugby
Seriously though, Cardiff last year was a fantastic weekend. The people in here really made it
And a tidy sum raised for charity

Hound - yeah, that weekend in Cardiff last year was really special. One of those times to really treasure
Still not made up my mind if I'm going to the HEC weekend this year though. Will depend how the Scarlets go in the Amlin I guess, where I will then stop being sensible and say to hell with the £££!
