Talofa*, afio mai** to the Leileifiafiafale*** - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat. The pub has ventured to Samoa because Biltongbek fancied cocktails on the beach.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of the recently retired Lloyd Burns and Peter Short; Richardt Strauss and Stephen Jones or the posters for "Stamp Out Racism" featuring Pat Lam and "Justice 4 John Afoa".

Having seen Walk The Line, I'd fell much more confident with June Carter in the defensive line

The good news is that a number of Irish tightheads have got gametime this weekend. The bad news is none of them actually look very good!

MrsP / Rava - it's nothing to do with Ulster and everything to do with the Scarlets
If Glasgow come away with nothing and Scatets get a 5-pointer tomorrow Ulster, Glasgow and Scarlets will have 56 points

Munster are really poor tonight. Totally lacking leadership and tactics. Zebo is making a better fist of fly half than Keatley.

It's true. It's getting VERY tight. Ulster would actually be fourth in that scenario.
It would be very funny and ironic if Ulster moved into the playoff positions just after our push for the playoffs has been declared over by fans and pundits alike

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
Evening All,
Just got in from the match. Not sure what Clancy was on, even I was puzzled by Sweeney's binning, but maybe there's some rule or other I don't get... Took the O's a while to kick themselves up the bum as well. I was quite cross at HT. Leigh HP's kicking was superb, mind. makes Johnny Sexytoes look rubbish
It was a bit of a weird atmosphere at first around the place....quiet. was surprised at the low turn out of Blues fans - think there were more O's ones. Then the banter, singing and silliness started, and I had a good laugh and was sat between two nice couples in the O's supporters end. There was a bloke behind me chanting for the Dragons at one point...think he was taking the pish. One Blues supporter went storming out of the stand after the second O's try, I actually felt a bit sorry for him. He didn't look happy at all. All the O's tries were scored pretty much right in front of our stand as well, so I got a good view for a change! Missed My Boy at 14... but Dirksen's coming along nicely.
Just waiting for me pizza to cook...

MrsP - it was on S4C - http://www.s4c.co.uk/clic/e_index.shtml then click on Catch Up (down the left hand menu) or Y CLWB RGYBI on the main page. The George Clancy Show isn't on there yet but should be there soon

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
Evening;
A day of clarification in the Top14.
Although 2nd, The future European champions are guaranteed a semifinal place in the Top14(which is not assured for Toulouse who are first atm),and if they finish first, they will have choice of match day, as the semis are both in Toulouse,so playing on Saturday evening gives a day more recup.Possible contenders include Toulon(who I saw not turn up at Agen, but was priviledged to see Giteau, bakkies, hayman,Shaw,Van Nikierk, etc) are vying for a home barrage along with Montpellier, with the Galthier effect.RM92,Castres and Stade Francais,(seen off by the future French and European lords, put up a great fight against the ASM b squad;Super Mario welcomed back as a hero).

Cari was on fairly early wasn't she? It sounds like it wasn't a match one would want to watch the whole way through.

Cos in head to heads,ASM are ahead of RCT;however there is a RCT/ST on 04/05 that could change the calculations. It's down to points average between clubs;ST won 33-12,so big game in perspective, especiacally that Toulouse are showing wobbly signs...unlike U No Hooo

I'm seeing rumours on twitter that Paul Marshalls season is over
Let's hope that his injury is not as bad as being reported. It would be a real shame if he really has broken his arm.

That is really bad news Notch.
He certainly was sore immediately after he scored.
Mick(),
I'm still confused. I know Top14 play offs are different than the Jeff and Rabo but you and Toulouse are equal on points, yes? Surely you are both in the same boat, no?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
I think what is saying is that both Toulouse and ASM can be mathematically caught.
However, even if ASM are caught they have better 'head-to-head' records against the others and are thus assured of a home tie. Whereas Toulouse's 'head-to-head' records aren't as good and so they aren't assured.
At least I think that's it

Evening all, back in after grabbing dinner on the way home from Quins vs Wasps, just sitting down and typing up the match report.
There were a few Wasps fans there in good voice (they must have been inspired by Asbo, Hughie, Ozzie and me the other week - I could hear "Oggie oggie oggie Wasps Wasps Wasps from the other side of the pitch) though Hound was off watching Ealing.

Now I get it.
Now, why are Toulouse listed ahead of ASM who has a better points diff? Are we back to the head to head record between the 2 again?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Beach Leileifiafiafale, Samoa
The Top14 semis(which are in Tlse this season,so no home fixtures-apart from Toulouse) are dependent on 1v(4v5),and 2nd v(3v4) ASM can finish 1st, but, theoretically, Toulon could finish second with the same number of points as Tlse.So as ASM have a head to head advantage, and enough points in hand not to be overtaken by RCT,they are directly qualified for the TOp14 semis.I DO realise that the Rabo is simple, and that even a Munsterman can fathom its intricacies

Yeah, I think we haven't given Porter enough gametime. Now we could be a wee bit exposed there.
Richard Mulligan; "I believe @PaulMarshall9 will have to wait until Monday at least for full assessment of injury. Defo miss next week though #hopethatsall"
So hope he's not as bad as has been speculated. We'd miss him.

Surprised you lot finished up in here on a Saturday night before eleven. That's a first surely?

Bore da Cari. Let's see if the mighty Scarlets can Flip this season up good and proper away to a team on death row. Commentators say "they only have pride to play for" as if that means they won't try!
For those who are not tempted by the "I've got a whistle and I'm not afraid to use it show" can I urge you to look at Cari's cameo, but also a scrum at 28 minutes. See if you can guess which player is making a 'rodeo cowboy' impression, picked up by Clancy's mic.
