The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, London
First topic message reminder :
The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Games of the XXX Olympiad Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This week the pub has set up in the host city London, where we can watch the greatest athletes from all four corners of the globe compete in a multitude of Sports under the one thousand flame Olympic torch... each wearing the 5 coloured Olympic rings of blue, white (or black), red, yellow and green.
"Citius, Altius, Fortius" (faster, higher, stronger) has been the motto for the modern Olympic Games since their beginning in 1896.
(but not too high obviously!)
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Marcus Aurelius, Henri Didon, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, Sir Steve Redgrave, Cameron Van De Burgh, Marianne Vos, Murray Rose, Jesse Owens, Emil Zátopek,
Zara Phillips and her fabulous horse "Toytown" and last but not least.... Boris Johnson playing whiff-whaff against Danny Boyle.

I'm not Murray's greatest fan but I was certainly cheering him on in that. He did Britain proud in that match. I bet this wasn't a gold they foresaw before the games.

Hi Munsty I honestly thought it would be the one match he'd never win, but now he's got it out of the way, he'll be a lot more confident come Wimbledon next year. Good for him.

How are you Cari anyway? Enjoying the 'Lympics?
I can't wait for the 100M Final tonight. Definitely the highlight sport of the games. But more importantly, first I shall be going to Thomond Park to watch the Super Blues, Limerick FC, beat the Premiership champions, Manchester City.

I'm good thank Munsty. I've enjoyed what I've seen of the Olympics. Haven't been watching it as much as everyone else. I've enjoyed watching the sports we don't normally see on TV. I didn't watch the athletics last night as I was watching a film, but it all looked very exciting.

Sorry about the delayed reply. I watched the second part of the Wallander film Sidetracked. Amazing Swedish drama was on BBC4.
Just enjoying the men's hockey. Oz v GB and Oz have just scored. They look like they're playing on a blue carpet. When I played hockey in school we had to play on gravel. Bloody hurt when you fell over as well.

I slept for an hour this afternoon too. I just couldn't stay awake. Feel better for it now.
Oz have scored again 0 - 2. Do Oz have to beat us at everything?! (Sorry Breaker )

This hockey isn't as exciting as hurling. At least they don't wear helmets so I can have a good look at them

I love how cocky Bolt is. He wasn't even trying that last 10m and still ran 9.87. Simply stunning.

Did you see that bodyshot willser by the Mexican, Nevin showed real guts there. Seems like a very classy Boxer but maybe not the strongest guy?
Good luck to him in the next round that was some effort.
Do you know when Barnes fights next?
