Olympics Day 13
First topic message reminder :
Day 13 of the Games. Chances for gold today include Kerri Anne Payne in the 10k open water swim, Charlotte Dujardin in the individual dressage, Nicola Adams in the boxing and the men's 470 in the sailing. Really looking to put extra distance between us and the Russians today. But, in a digression from what I normally do, but I'm sure you will excuse me this once.............
COME ON KATIE TAYLOR! YOU'RE INDESTRUCTIBLE!

Hey Billy , you'd rather win that than the Eurovision Song Contest
The Russian lass gave her a real fight there but she won like the champion she is...
The fans are going wild bless 'em ...mind you I've heard more tuneful versions of The Fields of Athenry

Jesus christ Ochigaya was negatvive, I haven't cried too often while watching sports but that was one of them. That was simply superb. Well done Katie the most popular athlete of the whole games! Absolutely brilliant stuff. Come on!
Seeing as you lot have got to play this about 24 times, I'm sure you won't mind me doing it...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSq8ZBdSxNU

Re: Olympics Day 13
Well done to Jade Jones...
And a huge congrats to Adams & the Equestrian team for getting us back on the road with some more medals..
Just to bring a downer on to things...I have to say that the BOA have to really look into the way the selection policy is done in this country because some of the picks for the Athletics team were very strange...and whoever was in charge of the Taekwondo could have alot to answer for because their decision to leave out Cook (purely because he turned his back and went & funded himself) may well bite them on their arse tomorrow.
Of course their is the chance it wont but it still doesn't escape the fact that the World Number 1 and best male in UK was left out of an Olympics. I find that both shameful and embarrassing.

Eirebilly - They most certainly do...however I am surprised an Irish Parliament official hasn't come out and distanced the whole country from the god awful twins...to be honest I don't think Jedward would mind...
They would no doubt end up entering themselves as an actual country!!

Ireland get prepared our best sportsperson ever and the most popular athlete in London is about to step up. Our anthem is going to be played for the first time in 16 years (we're forgetting O'Connor). Unreal.

Agreed. 5-0 down and he fought back to 6-5 down at one point before losing 9-6. No shame in that.

Nicola Adams...She literally has a smile that would help me through any depressive times. Such an infectious personality..
Interesting point, if Yorkshire was it's own country it would be 10th in the Medal table right now! Not bad at all.

From the TV coverage it seemed a bit of bizzare atmosphere at that ... there was a more vocal Irish element in the crowd and she got a bigger cheer than the British lass did for winning her gold.

Performance of the Athletics if not the whole Olympics in my opinion. A truly "super" human. Absolutely beautiful sight to behold in full flow.
Over to you now Usain Bolt.

Rudisha's style is so silky, the chasing pack's cadence was a lot higher but he just cruised through at such speed!

Never underestimate the Irish getting behind their team, we are incredibly vocal and well credit to the home fans from GB who roared Katie on too, and it seemed the Irish cheered on the British lass too, which is nice. Great day for Ireland and hopefully we exchange some medal colors in the next few days!

I really like Usain Bolt. He's a character, for entertainment's sake he is great. That's all I really care about.
I think if you don't like Bolt, you can't really like Blake who has shown he is just as cocky in the semi-finals where he basically stopped on the line.
