Olympics Day 13
First topic message reminder :
Day 13 of the Games. Chances for gold today include Kerri Anne Payne in the 10k open water swim, Charlotte Dujardin in the individual dressage, Nicola Adams in the boxing and the men's 470 in the sailing. Really looking to put extra distance between us and the Russians today. But, in a digression from what I normally do, but I'm sure you will excuse me this once.............
COME ON KATIE TAYLOR! YOU'RE INDESTRUCTIBLE!

How British was that? Land of Hope and Glory and the Great Escape. Gold for Britain! Number 23 of these games. And Bronze as well to cap it off.

Re: Olympics Day 13
What I find unbelievable is that there are regular posters here applauding the performance of a horse dancing to Elgar...
And then in the same post commenting on a sport where the objective is to kick someone in the head
Only in the Olympics

Sports bring people together.
Look at how the world cup unites the whole of the world against the English football team.

Well I haven't a clue about dressage but I have to admit those last couple of riders/horses certainly put on a show ...not going to argue with the judges

Re: Olympics Day 13
The most diverse afternoon of sport ever?
Dancing horses
Hockey
BMX riding / crashing
Kicking your opponent up side the head
Yachtsmen bobbing gently in Weymouth harbour but not making much progress because of the lack of wind.

Re: Olympics Day 13
Has anyone commented yet on Laura Trott revealing that she and Jason Kenny have been a couple for a while?
Both lovely people and potential-if-not-already-legends, and I wish them the best... If it all goes well, just imagine how damn quickly their kids will be able to zip around a track? [Surely breeding can't be the next innovative step in British Cycling's long-term strategy to remain world-beaters???]

Re: Olympics Day 13
If she loses this I vote we all head to the arena and riot...only won that round by 3? Deary me the scoring is laughable....out of interest i would be intrigued to know why they don't utilise the system in place in the Taekwondo...
She looks so good...a bout between her and Katie Taylor would be a cracker.

Re: Olympics Day 13
Haha that is the definition of bad scoring...
She won the last round which she dominated by only 3...then that round where it was pretty scrappy she won by 4 ....
Well I suppose she is at least winning!!
Come on GB...Gold number two of the day..and who said things were stalling!!

I can see Roy Keane exploding though if he hears people saying that again.
