The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Mendoza - the city at the foothills of the Andes and one of the venues for the inaugural Rugby Championship.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Rory McIlroy, Sam Cane, Juan José Imhoff, Eben Etzebeth, Jake Schatz and Rob McCusker.

Stuck with the closing ceremony for the most part, couldn't see Rory but was following it. Enjoyed it some great acts and some horrible ones. Brand was okay, Jessie J isn't a great singer to be honest.
Still relatively enjoyable, although the Brits get a boxer who won gold on the wall (dodgily) and we don't? Boo-urns!

Breaker, could you edit the OP so that it says the Pub has made its way rather than it's way? Ta!

A Belarussian shot putter has been stripped of here gold due to having a banned substance. It's the one who looked like Shane Byrne

Hmmm, not the nicest way for NZ to gain another gold medal, but we'll take it! Especially since it's our only medal not won sitting down.
It leapfrogs us over Cuba to 15th

According to Wiki
Metenolone (methenolone, Nibal, Primbolan) is a long-acting anabolic steroid with weak androgenic (testosterone or androsterone-like) properties
Explains a lot. Mick TEFC and I were watching the shot in France, and at one point I mistook Ostapchuk for a male coach (she was wearing a hoodie in between throws)

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
Is that true, Thomond? They mentioned during the competition that her performances had become loads better in the last few months.
Is it really worth cheating to win a gold medal? If you're caught, your name's mud and you'll always be remembered as a cheat; and if you manage to get away with it, you'll go the rest of your life knowing that you didn't win your medal fair and square.

An Irish journalist reporting it over twitter, Lucky so would assume it is. A shame, first stripped medal is it?

The judges must have all blinked every time he got hit. In fairness 3 of his fights were close enough but he got pummelled in his first fight. He's a lucky boy is mr Joshua.....

Ostapchuk had improved her throwing distance by around a metre over the past few months.
In NZ it'll take some pressure off the Adams entry scandal. An NZ team official failed to tick all the entry form boxes and only some last minute negotiations got Valerie into the event - which considering she's the reigning world champ and Beijing gold winner counts as severe negligence. Adams was reportedly throwing comparable distances to the Belarussian in training, but the stress knocked her off a bit.

Seconded.
My aircraft I'm going home on is on its way. Can't wait, especially as I'll be home to watch Dragons on Friday now. Great to be back watching rugby again.
Didn't see any of the closing ceremony for obvious reasons. I have a lot to catch up on I player when I get home as it is. Seemed very well received by most though. Who carried our flag?

Outside my job remit Billser. If I was to die or get injured in the process my life insurance policy wouldn't cover it.
