The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Mendoza - the city at the foothills of the Andes and one of the venues for the inaugural Rugby Championship.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Rory McIlroy, Sam Cane, Juan José Imhoff, Eben Etzebeth, Jake Schatz and Rob McCusker.

Aye PJ - it will be tougher this year. 1) everyone knows what Ealing are about now. 2) promotion would be a step too far. They are well financed, but fully pro in the Championship would see them struggle.
Gibbo - Ealing are easy on the eye, for sure. Nearly as good to watch as the 'Leinster Cup' winners in that respect.
We've won all our pre- season friendlies, including Glaws wannabees, Hartpury College. Cardiff RFC will be a good test though.

Hound - 77 tries! That's going to take some beating for sure.
And Chiefs have just beaten Glasgow in the pre - season friendly - I wonder how Asbo is going to be feeling about that one......
Asbo is a Chiefs fan first Dreamer. Glasgow only because Borders no longer exist. He said he would take it in on the way back from the Island holiday. (Subject to Doris agreement )

Chiefs beat Glasgow? Id say he's happy. Wonder did he go?
Man, I'm so looking forward to planning all the HC games now - away to Scarlets, ASM and Chiefs. It all involves regs teams, its going to be a total blast. And the ones in Dublin.
So I'll be asking me mates Glas, Chef and As, for lodgings.
Bring it ON!
Can't wait for the HEC either Gibbo, think I'm getting my flights sorted out for France either this weekend or next week, tis gonna be excellent, Chiefs at Nadolig and then Dublin for the New Year! Love it
Rava - aha fair do's!

Hey Gibbo, howsit?
Science is class - especially when you've got some "assistance", it wouldn't surprise me if the IBMers started off researching the best kind of paper for roaches when they came up with the idea of using them as a binary function code...
Just watched a phone video of eldest boy tormenting one of his mates, his mate was wasted after a night out and was the first to fall asleep - massive bad idea - so they drew him a pornstar tatoo on his lower back, filled one of his hands with toothpaste and tickled his face... slap, instant auto-pie job.
Cruel, but very, very funny.
Dreamer, who was your favourite interviewee then? I saw the comments about POC on faceache, but did anyone impress in terms of pure charisma, passion etc?
Hound, that's a big step up in class to the Championship, but as you say, a massive hurdle from semi to full on pro, it's almost like a Prem 2.

Evening all.
Sorry to read that Thom.
I'm off to Alton Towers tomorrow with my boys and wife. First time in 14 years. Last time was when Oblivion was new. Mad. Sadly, I'm too tall for some of the rides though.

Evening Rev, hope you have a cracking day out, it's a better park now than it was then. The weather looks to be largely OK so I hope the traffic is kind.
I can get to within 10 miles of Alton in less than 45 minutes from here, but it usually takes at least another 30 minutes to do the last stretch, and that's when it's not too busy.

PJ, Alton Towers must be the worst signposted attraction in Britain. I get to Stoke no problem, then the fun starts. I was there three times. Each time I arrived from a different direction.

Rava's in da house!
Now we bouncin'.
I don't have to go through Stoke from here - but if I did, I wouldn't - it's like the land that cleverness forgot. When I was born, Walsall was in South Staffs and anything North of Lichfield was bandit country. The route I take from here is woolly back roads, Alton Towers is like THE only nationwide attraction within 150 miles, but it's like trying to find a pork chop at a bar mitzvah, it does make you wonder who's in charge.

PJ - Andries Pretorius of the Blues gave a brilliant interview. Just really really enthusiastic and passionate about whatever I asked. He certainly portrayed that there was a great vibe at the Blues which was good, really think they need that this season.
Easterby was great as well, the guy just oozes class
aaaah no. My hedgehog is ill. And okay it isn't my hedgehog but I've seen it loads over the last few days (during the day!) but my dad's just found it on the lawn, lying on it's side breathing really weirldy. It didn't even curl up when we got close, so we've moved it into the porch and put it in a box and everything with food and water and to keep it warm, but it really doesn't look very well

Arron Cameron (the wife's) is 17, he's just had his AS results, but I would say "results" is stretching it - he passed 2 and failed 2 so he wants to go to college to take a BTEC in art with a view to going on to teacher training as an art-fart.
Samuel James Abraham (mine) is 15, he's just had his stage 2 GCSE results and has moved up a stream with a couple of B's but mostly C's, he wants to be a layabout when he grows up, but I've told him he ain't got the grades to be an IT professional.

Sat Nav Rav. I'm hoping it's alright.
Cheers PJ. Weather looks better around Stoke than in Wales according to my app, but it's iffy at the best of times is the app.
Gibbo, I mean my kids for their birthday. I have two boys (not with Mrs), but I don't tend to talk about them until recently as things were a bit tricky. I thought it was fairly common knowledge now though. Get things out of the way ASAP see

That's all I need on Tour. A box in a porch and a drop of water and food. And a cuddle now and then. Maybe a padded porch for daul snoring.

Hi PJ. (e)
As daft as it sounds Rava, you've probably made a great diagnosis there. Hedgepigs eat a loooot of fruit at this time of year, and if the fruit's been groundfall for a while (probably favourite as hedgepigs ain't renowned for their tree-climbing) and taken in some yeast spores from the air, it's not entirely unlikely that it's totally and thoroughly pished.
Offer it a bacon banjo, if it starts sniffing it'll be right.

CJ - It's been an on-going thing the last week with this hedgehog as we found it outside the first time in the daytime (which is v weird) so I spoke to our local hedgehog lady on Monday and she said to keep an eye on it, and if it started to look poorly to put it in a box, with a hot water bottle and a supply of food and water. If it's still alive in the morning I shall give her another call.
Maybe it's just eaten too many slugs.... (our garden is like a haven for them right now)
anyways, I'm off to sleep, have had a stupidly long day. Nos da pawb, kip good and enjoy your Fridays!
(please keep your fingers crossed that my hedgehog survives the night, ta muchly)

Dreamer, Pretorius eh? That's cool. I love good interviewees who just keep giving back to the interviewer, they always come across as being aware of their own good fortune to be doing something they love; as opposed to being aware of how fortunate someone is to be in their presence.
Johnno wasn't either of those, but his scowling, beetle-browed word-wrestles when he was at the helm used to turn my guts.
Glad you had a great time, you deserved it.
Quite honestly, I reckon the hedgepig is a caner, absolutely no joke, it's quite common.

Hey, muchachos, good to hear all the news. Re: hedgehogs. When I was at (boarding) school, many moons past, girl in my dorm found a baby hedgehog which she tried to wean. We were all roped into trying to feed the wee soul at hourly intervals with a medicine dropper through the night but since we were giving it cow's milk, that was probably the main reason for its demise.
Gibbo, don't know about any of the HC matches; I have emailed my old flame who now resides in the Massif Central, not far from Clermont, 'jokingly' intimating that I might be looking for some accomodation for the ASM match. Strangely (??), have had no reply on this subject!!! Would like to go back to Devon and take in an entire match at Sandy Park if the Laird of Colm Valley is agreeable - maybe even get there in time for the hog roast this time!
Nice to speak, CJ. Which hospital are you attached to for your studies? I was at UCH for a couple of years.
PJ! My man, great to hear from you - we met all too briefly in Bath, but I understand that you will be part of the merry throng in Dublin next May. Looking forward to it big time.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Mendoza
I was a test tube juggler, CJ - medical research lab technician in Endocrinology, then human metabolism, then Obs and Gynae. Went to Royal Marsden in Sutton after that as a Clin Chemistry MLSO. Long time past! Met The Man (Mr Puma)and put my chemistry skills to a new use in the catering trade. Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.

Morning all.
It's very grey and cloudy here but the sun is trying to fight through. I hope it does as the little ones are full of energy this morning so need to be taking them outside somewhere for them to burn off some energy.
Anyways, how goes it with everyone?
