The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Taihape - The Gumboot Capital of the World!
http://www.taihape.co.nz/
We also welcome our newest member, Amber ...who no doubt will have an interest in those boots!
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Aaron Smith, Topsy Ojo, Jason Shoemark, Tom Rees, Gonzalo Garcia, Leo the Leinster Lion and Lalakai Foketi up on the wall.

Those are scary figures Rava, most of my work has been in the domestic environment which has mostly stable forms of asbestos, but it does worry me. Contractors who've worked on maintenance of commercial properties seem to be hit hardest.
Keep up the good work bud, I did my awareness course about 6 years ago and was so stunned by how common it was, I was bricking it at work for the next few months.

Oxford English Dictionary:
Pie
"Origin:
Middle English: probably the same word as pie2, the various combinations of ingredients being compared to objects randomly collected by a magpie"
Therefore it's the randomness of the filling which determines what makes a pie not pastry cases or covers.
Down with fascism!

I think you're all overlooking (whether deliberately or not) the biggest, most farcical misnomer of the lot: the mince pie. They neither contain mince nor do they mince, therefore the use of the word is just plain inappropriate.

This place has a pool with underwater video cameras so the players can see their resistance training (deeply useless) and 'the senior training pitch is the exact size of the pitch at Wembley Stadium and with exactly the same mix of grass and artificial fibres'. It's okay though, it only cost £105 million.

Technically Lucky the filling is "minced fruit". But since I don't like mince pies ...

I don't like them either. But a word to the wise, using the term 'minced fruit' could get you in trouble.

Bore da pawb/good morning all.
There should be some sort of law that allows you to bring your duvet and pillow into work, that way having to leave your bed in the morning wouldn't be so blydi difficult.
I miss my pillow

Morning all!! Dreamer I agree: especially seeing as I'm off on the train to Swansea at 7am friday....I don't even want to go to Swansea!!
I'll have and and one of those pie's people are talking about on here, beef and stilton is the best for me, although hunter's pie runs it close with a bit of brown sauce.

This is probably a bad time to admit I had an hour's sleep in this morning, and I'm still enjoying the comfort of the couch at home right? Just doing my interview prep, the wrestling lads have given me a nice list of questions, so a leisurely trip over to Fulham is ahead.
And sorry Lucky, guess I should have gone for "fruit mince"

Who's the Welsh wrestler you're interviewing, Pete?
When I was growing up they used to have wrestling on S4C and my hero was a wrestler called 'El Bandito'. I went to an Eisteddfod with my dad and met him, I was over the moon.

When I started university we had a bit of a party in halls and one of the blokes there told me he was from Cumbria - and said, 'I bet you don't know where that is'. I gave him a funny look and told him where it was, but I realised later that he'd only asked because most of the people he'd met hadn't known where it was. I think it's poor not to have a good knowledge of geography, but it's actually a disgrace to be British and not to know where Cumbria is.

Gibbo the funny thing is I once played a game in Taihape, against that part of the King Country, as a member of a particular Auckland club side, we hit town the same weekend as there was a netball tournament on, mate I tell you it was like dying and going to heaven.
