They're doing brilliantly so far. 10 points to the good and Racing Metro simply aren't in the game at all.

Afternoon all, what in God's name is going on at Murrayfield?!
Sarries rattling up a 5-pointer and Embra, with 8 minutes to go, totally pointless.

Back again. I'm going to have to wait for the highlights. Games sound interesting. I believe S4C are showing the Amlin game later though.

Leinster won 9-6. It was 6-6 and stalemated when Chiefs gave away a totally needless penalty for offside to give Leinster the lead. Chiefs then missed a penalty with the last kick of the game.

Chiefs just never let them get going. Good effort. They'll feel like they've missed a chance for a famous win.

It was a good game Cari, but spoiled by a pedantic ref. Exe should have had a pen at 6-6 for blatant offside at a ruck 25m from Leinster's posts.

Just checked out the results. Well done Connacht. WTF happened to Edinburgh? Good start by the Dragons but Wasps have just equalized with a try of their own by a tasty looking winger called Wallace. What is it with me and wingers? Or should that be, why are wingers yummy? Converted by Nicky. 7 - 5.

17 - 5 after 15 minutes or so.
Just noticed Wasps have Mind (a mental health charity) on their shirts. I like that a lot.

After a promising start it's not looking good. Wasps now 20 - 5 up and the Dragons FB has just been binned.

Cracking day of Heineken Cup rugby, few surprising performances and results. London Irish up 14-6 at half time in Bordeaux in the Amlin. Be good to get a win there, but I think it will be a tough second half as it's started to get a bit niggly and I suspect we'll see some cards second half.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
We've done most of the attacking so good in that regard MrsP. I do feel we've been trying to force it looking for the tries for the bonus point though, rather than just accumulating and wearing them down. We nearly coughed up an intercept try due to a daft offload in the corner looking for one of our own.
Good win for Ulster last night, Paul Marshall looking good. What chance of him getting capped in the AI's?

If you are asking if he should get a chance then the answer would have to be probably.
If you are asking if he will get a look in then the answer is probably not!
Form really doesn't seem to count for much.
He did have a fantastic game alright. I was so disappointed that it looked like we had let a TBP go a-begging. Very relieved that we got that break at the very end. Great atmosphere at Ravenhill.

Hmmm. Was listening on the drive back from Cumbria. When Stoddart was sent off I put myself in Easterby's shoes and wondered what my team talk would be (I do this sort of Poopie when driving on motorways)
I came up with:
"Right, every Clermont fan and probably most of our own, the ref, linesmen, the chef and his cat think this game is over. The Clermont players are being told not to even contemplate that. We can do this if we knock their confidence early in the second half. Bust a gut to get the first score by whatever means and plant the seeds of doubt..."
Needless to say, I could have swam to France to castrate Priestland with my Nan's old false teeth when he got charged down leading to the first try of the second half and the open gates flooding.

No, indeed Ozzy but experience would certainly indicate that this is the situation.
Not great for the players.
I would say that this is on of the fantastic things that Anscombe has enforced at Ulster this season. It doesn't matter who you are or how many caps you have, if there is some 20 year old playing better than you you can fight your way back in.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
Certainly don't want to bring this up out there but does anyone think it is helping sides like Bizkaia Gernika or Rovigo to have double figures (or close to it) of tries run in against them in the Amlin?
Does it actually help develop those teams directly or is it purely the increase in finances that might help?

Consolation try for Bordeaux with a minute to go makes it 43-16 to Irish.
MrsP, I agree. The Amlin is a really skewed competition. Some good teams in it are targeting it and the minnows have no chance. I can't see how getting thumped helps them at all.
For me the European competitions should have 3 tiers, with one below the Amlin. Less teams in the Heino strengthens the Amlin and the weaker teams drop down to a third competition where they at least stand a chance of competing.
