The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Taihape
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Taihape - The Gumboot Capital of the World!
http://www.taihape.co.nz/
We also welcome our newest member, Amber ...who no doubt will have an interest in those boots!
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Aaron Smith, Topsy Ojo, Jason Shoemark, Tom Rees, Gonzalo Garcia, Leo the Leinster Lion and Lalakai Foketi up on the wall.

You do, Prop - we watched the first half on the north terrace then snuck over to join Rev and Rhino on the Hazell for the second!

Anyway, I picked this as one of my fave tries. Just for the drama (not good for O's fans nerves, mind):

I'll never forget watching that one Cari, twas awesome stuff although for me this one will always be hard to beat only because I was there in that year we won the thing

Someone's posted Tom James cracking try from the HC semi final before the dreaded penalty shoot out:

It's like he's a completely different person now.
I loved the bit at the end of that clip when a kid is waving his/her hands in front of Cockers.
There were some nice tries in that LV cup game lucky. Looks like both teams aren't exactly going for the Amlin this season looking at the teams.

Prop - ah, yeah I bet that was an exciting one to witness....even the shoot out at the end.
Hey Pete - how's you these days? All good I hope? Of course that would be hard to beat. Sadly as an O's fan I've yet to experience that...

Here we go, it's Heino time again!
I just love this competition, 'Mon Ulster!! (and the O's).
It's an interesting back row Wills, but I reckon they'll still have way too much all over the park for Castres to keep up with.
SUFTUM!

I can hear the Welsh/Scots fans in full voice at the fitbaw though
Peej - when you say Swansea do you mean rugby or football? Swansea played last week in the Principality Cup and lost to Ponty.

Well done to the Os & Ulster so far.
My mate has a multiple footy bet on. He needs Wales to score to get him back on track.

I did post on the match thread that a tbp was there for the taking for Ulster, given the teak Castres put out.
You still have to earn it though.
O's should be looking at similar. Dirksen gets no. 2

It's absolutely piddling down here now....don't envy the football fans up the road.
Yeah they should get a WBP, but they've got to earn it as you say. Terrible scrum there.

It seems to me that Ulster have any number of players who can punch holes in the defense and break out into open field, but when that happens, it's almost like Ulster are the team taken by surprise. Where are the support runners?
If Ulster start rushing up the channel after the player making the break, it's going to be tries at will I reckon.
Very impressed with my new team.

If Ulster don't come away with a bonus point try tonight, they'll be pished off. Pienaar on now. Court in the bin.

Bath are in "The Other Cup" and have two games against less than illustrious opposition, the Johnny Morris Jungle XV and Emmerdale Farm 3rds the next two games, I think.
I, I can't be arsed to be honest.

There was me thinking you'd go with the O's what with Baff nicking our PJ and all
Castres player swings a punch at Stevenson and the ref just tells him off. Should've been a yellow. Castres lucky not to have binned earlier as well.

Castres!
Honestly, I can't believe they're not butter. It's like they're trying to catch a wet bar of soap - in between cheating that is - if Ulster don't come away with a TBP they should be very disappointed with their execution, the chances have been many and often.
I would have loved to have given back to the O's for the main-man PJ, but I mentioned the fact, in the pub, that I needed a HC team to support (proper support mind, including buying a shirt and going to one of their games) and Rava was first to make a suggestion. Given that it was so soon after the tragedy of young Nevin's untimely passing (his da and his brother too of course), well, it was a no-brainer really.
Given Bath's current form? Hey, I promise you this Cari, if Bath aren't in the Heino next year - I'm backing the O's.

Eek, Treviso making a game of it.
Os should still seal it.
Castres are always an awkward bunch. Your forwards will know they've been in a game. Masoe was always a top player for them, but is with another French team this season.

De Frogs shoot demselves in the foot!!!
No chance of a LBP, but they keep playing until they cough it up and Ulster run the length to get the full 5 pts!!!!
Get in! PMSL.

Also I take back what I said about the football cause Wales actually won 2-1 tonight. No wonder there's so much noise outside.

After three days of tuning in to Cumbrian accents I go to a function in Carlisle with a comedian from Scotch Gap - just in the Northeast point of England who sounds like the only surviving speaker of the Cromarty dialect. I've never known an Englishman to accentuate his 'R' so clearly before.

I really enjoyed watching Castres tonight. Proper rugby team- not a single backward step was taken up front, or a single pass given to a man with double digits on his back unless absolutely necessary. What a wonderful pack. Really made it hard for us. Good game. Would have been devastated if we'd missed out on the 4th try though- we got lucky at the end they kept pushing for another score. Got out of jail.

An Ulster fan, being pseudo-magnanimous. I remember those days with my team. If Ulster don' t win that group - in a canter, they will have taken a major backwards-step. Don't hide from it. Its an easy group. Like Munsters'.
The real pressure is on now. Can ye handle it? Tune in.
There goes me bed in Belfast.

Morning All from the 7:58 to Milford Haven. Lovely day for travelling. Safe and happy journeys to those going on tour. Enjoy!
I didn't have time for brekkie this morning and I thought there would be a trolley dolly on this train, but no. Gagging for a brew as well. I'm eating a small stick of rock I found in my bag for nutrition.
Thanks Willy for the welcome - I'm liking the Ulster bandwagon
