The Stratospheric Supersonic Dew Drop Inn, Roswell, New Mexico
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to "sleepy" Roswell New Mexico, take off point for the first ever supersonic free-fall this week.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Felix Baumgartner and Chris Budgen up on the wall.

It is, PJ. It's strong, but you can't drink it quickly so it's okay!
If either side can score a try in this weather, it'll be a huge blow.

Whenever I see Tyrone Howe, I'm reminded of when he went out as a replacement on the 2001 Lions tour and the Australian press dubbed him Tyrone Who?

Evening all.
I've only seen a wee bit of the match so far but I don't think I could be a commentator at that ground! How do those guys think let alone talk with someone strangling a cat right beside their ear?
You could even hear the racket when they were trying to interview the guy in Toulouse!!!!!
P.S. Don't tell Asbo I said any of this, okay?

Ok, here goes - I want to challenge one of the central tenets to which our virtual pubs have long held. We've always supported the notion of keeping politics and religion/spirituality out of the pub, and I myself have defended that vigorously in the past, except of course after a few , or . But I fear that the lack of inclusion of those topics runs us into a danger of sanitising modes of discussion on important topics. So what are the moral limits of markets? Is paying to get ahead in a queue economically acceptable as th best way to clear the market or is it ethically unpalatable cos other considerations are equally valid? Thoughts would be appreciated, along with examples. Love you all, long time

So Castres are 13-6 up, and Ulster are 6-3 up.
This could be one very interesting Pool.

I don't quite know what you're on about either, Asbo. When you say paying to get ahead in the queue, do mean the queue at the bar?

That depends As. If you wish to be known as a morally upstanding gentleman then take your place in the queue. If you don't mind being known as that to$$er with the wallet then wave the cash and get in there. Example? I'll think about that one...
And we love you too, even though you've flummoxed us just now.

That essentially hinges on the "market" bud. Some elements of life should be marketable, but the essentials should be beyond the grasp of market forces. In order to retain the last vestiges of our humanity.
Healthcare, education and a minimum standard of living should be beyond financial considerations, where you go on holiday, how you get there, the size of your house and the type of car you drive hold little true value, and therfore rely on the market for their own existence.
I find the bagpipes very haunting.

I flew to Lanzarote with easyJet. Least comfortable seats ever. You couldn't slouch back in them and you couldn't lean forward because the row in front were so close. Boo you, Stavros.

Northampton's losing bonus point could turn out to be crucial.

A very unimpressive but effective performance from Ulster. Not sexy but we are in the ascendency in our group after two games. That is all we could have asked for.
How many of the remaining groups will have the leaders on 9 points after the weekend?

Re: The Stratospheric Supersonic Dew Drop Inn, Roswell, New Mexico
It wasn't a night for sexy rugby. It was a night for attritional, suffocating rugby and thats what we delivered. Wasn't happy with our first half but our second half was spot on.
If we can get a losing bonus point at least next round I'd back us to win the group. We have Saints away, then Saints at home and Glasgow at home. Want us to add to our 12-match unbeaten streak in Europe at Ravenhill by winning those two- if we do we'll have the upper hand with both teams on the road in the last weekend.
If we win at Franklins Gardens it will become very hard for Saints to catch us but if we get a point and Saints get 4 then both sides are on 10 with Ulster having two home games to come and Saints just one remaining home game- still a good position. We just can't lose by more than 7 at FG.
Avoid that pitfall and I'm backing the Ravenhill factor to see us through safely...

When travelling cattle class on 'budget' airlines, being vertically challenged has definite advantages.
Have to admit turning over to CAstres v Northampton shortly after half time - the frenzy of button pressing activity jolted me back awake. Turning into a very interesting group. But not for The Weegies, obviously.

Should be something in Settings or System Preferences- whatever the Windows equivalent of System Preferences is. Should be under energy saving settings. If its not plugged in to a power supply most laptops default to that to save the battery, so plug it in if its not already.
