First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to "sleepy" Roswell New Mexico, take off point for the first ever supersonic free-fall this week.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Felix Baumgartner and Chris Budgen up on the wall.

Cari I was just going to say. First that poor girl went missing two weeks ago, then an Irish girl was killed in Wales, then the incidents in Cardiff yesterday and apparently there was a human skeleton washed up on beach in Dublin. Papers saying it drifted across the Irish Sea from Wales.

I read it was a leg found in Dublin - I guess they found the rest of it then...how would they know where it came from? Or was it wearing a Welsh kit?
Well, like I said earlier, with regards to the house fire, April Jones, the Irish vet, the mad driver...they have at least apprehended those responsible...every cloud.

Cari - it probably was just a leg. I read it in a tabloid while waiting in an airport yesterday.
Re: The Stratospheric Supersonic Dew Drop Inn, Roswell, New Mexico
It's good in some way Cari that these people have been caught, I agree, an awful shame that all these events are happening.
Someone watching a game through a link without my involvement feels wrong, I'm just going to come out and say it....... Connacht game not on until 6 boyos. KCs getting shipped in and everything, a must have in Cork delicacy.
Just a note on something MrsP daid last night about forgiving and forgetting after a disagreement there will always be a chip on the shulder possibly from both but almost certainly one after an argument, you do see it happening on here,.

Yes, someone's always going to feel worse off than the other even if an amicable agreement is made at the end - someone's going to have to compromise, so someone's going to feel a bit aggrieved.

Cari, there are some grudges held alright, even within here I have no doubt about that. It's people's perogative though if they want to act liek that then fair enough.
There will always be tension, probably more so if there has never been a physical meeting between the two. (A physical meeting may end up in fisitcuffs though......)
Anyway, how are we all doing today?

Made a nice break in a game this morning, about 40m or so got tackled as I tried to step the full back which was disappointing.

I'm doing alright Thom, thanks. Although I can't watch any rugby as we're in 'spoons at Gatwick (no Sky) I've a nice pint of Roosters Yankee in front of me, and am able to keep with today's scores.
Still about 50 minutes until we have to go to the departure gate.

Mind you, he should now be given two weeks off. He's played too much rugby and if we're going to have him at his best in May he needs a holiday. I don't want to see him in an Ulster shirt again until after the November tests. He has been playing for two years straight.
Sure if we give him a holiday people will moan about it now, but the same people will be moaning once he isn't playing well at the sharp end of the season if we don't. With Marshall in form now is the time to rest Pienaar.
Completely agree notch. I very much fear Pienaar could burn out towards the end of the season unless he takes a break pronto before Xmas.

No need for him to burn out. Personally I think Marshall is playing well enough to be considered first choice for now.

I don't know if there are grudges, but there probably are posters who dislike other particular posters for whatever reason. It's like life itself. I know there are people who probably don't think much of me at work, within my family and maybe even on here, but I just get on with it. I don't deliberately go about annoying/upsetting people, I don't think I'm a bad or selfish person, but you can't please everyone at the same time as well.

Ah thats never been the case. I'm always pishing folk off on here, and I've met them in real life and they've been friendly, passionate people I've enjoyed chatting with.
Don't know if they're saying the same thing about me though...

London Welsh's 2nds won away 31-32 at Cavalieri Prato.
This has got to be a weird season for Welsh. They will be fighting like mad to stay in the Prem, but have all these European games getting in the way.

There are a few grudges I'd say you do see it happening not as much in here but on the boards in general.
A win PJ, played shoite but got the win, massive stepup ahead of next week.

Shane Jennings is a Bar Steward.
That is all.
Oh, hang on, it's very short sighted that such a player hasn't been recognised more internationally. He should have a slew of caps by now.

Chris Henry and Shane Jennings should be head to head for the Ireland 7 shirt.
Instead it will probably go to a guy who has hardly played so far at 7 in O'Mahony.

I know what you mean Thom, but how much of that is a grudge or just someone who likes to goad a particular person as well though? A kind of rivalry or something like that?
Notch - you're right about people meeting up in person being different. Considering there's usually alcohol involved somewhere in the meets as well, if it was going to kick off at all it would then.

It's just people not engaging with the poster as they feel they did something wrong to them or offended them in the past.

When you look at that it appears that Rory is giving Marsh a kick!
Thomond,
I really hope you are wrong about the discussion in here yesterday. If anyone was offended by anything I said I would be truely sorry. I would hope we could discuss stuff, even important stuff, without upsetting anyone. If I did annoy anyone I would love a chance to put it right. PM me please.

Cheers staggy. Wasps should stroll this with the team we have put out. Wade might be on for a hatful.
Cari - good news for the Os is that Toulouse did not get a bonus point at Treviso. And that explains why we are playing tomorrow; Treviso were at home today and Mogliano is close by.

Re: The Stratospheric Supersonic Dew Drop Inn, Roswell, New Mexico
Really?
I can remember a few eejits who have rubbed almost everyone up the wrong way and so folks stopped trying to engage with them but that's all. I know sometimes people (I'm looking at no one in particular ) sometimes say they are being ignored but I think that is just a matter of their perception and maybe posting at the wrong moment.
If folks have a disagreement I suppose it is natural for them to engage less with each other for a while but I hope everyone would get over that!

I have seen a disagreement between two people over a difference of opinion lead to kind of a breakdown of communication despite one party extending the olive branch in the aftermath, that's when it can kind of get a bit tiresome.

I know what you mean Thom, but if that person who is ignoring the other doesn't have the maturity to discuss what the issue is and try to resolve it (if they want to that is), then that's their problem wouldn't you say? Like I said, you can't please everyone. You can only do so much before having to give up. I have done that many a time on a personal level. If the other party really doesn't want to know, what can you do? Why should you run around after them all the time? If you've done all you can to resolve things from your side, then you've tried.

That's exactly what happened to me and my father. However, the sad thing is we never had a disagreement as such. I just happen to be his ex-wife's daughter. Tried speaking to him and keeping in touch with him for years, and got rejected everytime without explanation. Eventually I came to the conclusion that I did as much as possible, he doesn't want to know and I'm not making it my problem anymore.
