So in that case, will Lancaster keep the same back three? Most here reckoned it didn't work, and Wood must be at 6. That leaves Haskell, Waldrom or Vanipuolo for 8 and Haskell is at present well suited to being a sub (Did I see him in the second row vs Ireland).
I thought it worked fine, with England having the better of the breakdown and looking in control pretty much all game.
Obviously it's not the best backrow we could play, but with Morgan injured and Vunipola probably a little short of experience (I expect him to tour this summer and then be competing with Morgan up to the WC) I think the backrow we picked last week will do us fine this weekend.

Watched the game at Welford Rd so no sound. Farrell looked to go off with the sort of injury that could cause him to miss matches. Anyone know what it was?
Also reading the match thread there were suggestions he may be cited - what for?

Re: England Injury Update
Looked like he did something to his hamstring and stayed on too long - he did the exact same thing against Wales last year and missed an easy place kick because of it, but still played against France two weeks later.

A little worried about the injury to Farrell. Nothing's been released at the moment. There was footage of him taking a knock to the hip, so if it's just a knock he'll be ok in a few days. If it's soft tissue damage, then he'll be out for one game minimum, maybe the last 2 games.

Lancaster in one of his post match interviews said it wasn't anything to worry about and that it was just a "knock"

Manu apparently needed 19 stitches in his ear!
I hope that Morgan and Billy V are able to play next weekend and thus make a case for inclusion against Italy. We could do with a genuine No8.

Good to hear, although that's the standard line even if a limb is hanging by a thread!

He's fit now, training with Glaws this week and in contention to start Friday's clash with Bath.

That is great news. Both for Burns and for England.

It'd be good to see Youngs start at hooker against Italy. Along with Morgan back at 8 and Billy V on the bench. Maybe start Flood as well and give Farrel a rest.

Re: England Injury Update
Farrell - citing - I'd be absolutely amazed. There was a shove on Parra that Parra tried to milk that some might claim was an elbow but usually an elbow involves said part of the body actually leaving the side of the body.
Farrell also got tripped by Picamoles ( I believe) when following up a kick - did go down and arguably also tried milking it. There was an edge about the boy, especially with the French 15, but I cant believe the amount of BS on the BBC comments about 'not behaving like that'. As long as it doesnt turn into actual violence (the unsanctioned dangerous kind) and the player keeps on doing what they are paid for I cant see the problem.

Re: England Injury Update
The media hype is a bit much - Farrell goes from the "iceman" to the petulant child.
We should get behind Farrell Jr. Not constantly build him up to knock him down.
