Re: Ongoing NFL discussion thread part 2
i hope (or dont hope in my view) that the niner make there secondary more solid, near the end of last yera it seemed if the front 7 wernt presurring then teams were able to pack apart that secondary.
niners are the complete opposite of the seahawks infact
niners front 7 make the QB throw it quicker which works as WR havnt found space or completed routes
the hawks secondary covers the WRs well so it buys more time for the pass rush to get to the QB.
Seriously the hawks secondary and the niners front 7 would shut teams out on a weekly basis

JaMarcus Russell?
Just leave a cake in the endzone and he'll drive his team right down there.

Sounds like #Rams & OT Jake Long are hammering out a deal. Could have a resolution soon, barring any snags. They are OK with him medically
The worlds longest medical is over!

wow, apparently Zach Miller on the Hawks has the biggest cap hit on the team this year and Sidney Rice 2nd. 2 okay players but nowhere near worth their deals. I like going on all the different teams forums, you find news sooner than anywhere else

Broncos remain in Lombardi or bust mode. Pass rusher like Barwin/Freeney/Seymour on radar. Could still add depth to secondary too

@RapSheet
On a conference call with Competition Committee. First proposal: Fix the Schwartz rule. Second? Eliminating ganging up on long snapper
@RapSheet
Whoa: Tuck Rule is changing. If the passer loses control going forward it's still INC. If he loses ball while tucking, it's a fumble.
@AlbertBreer
CC second proposal add restrictions to PAT rush/FG rush teams ... Requiring that no more than 6 defensive players align in front of snapper.
@AlbertBreer
Competition rule proposal: Runners can't use the crown of the helmet as a weapon outside the tackle box.
@AlbertBreer
CC rule change: TE/H-backs can wear numbers 40-49 now.

The Detroit Lions are announcing that Jeff Backus is retiring after 12 seasons in the @nfl.
So genuine chance Joeckel, Fisher and Johnson could go in top 7.

Really depends on how they see the LT's if they see their next franchist OT there at 5 they'd be stupid to pass him up.GSC wrote:Doubt it. Lions have nobody at DE

CB Market seems to be quite low this year, which improves our chances of keeping Talib on a low risk deal which I like.

And the downside in paying SB winners. Ah well, we have cap room to burn.

Don't like the Williams contract at all. Lewis is better so I'd imagine he would get a bit more again, maybe 4 years, 25m?

Yeah its slightly above market, but the years would work in our favour in terms of dumping him if necessary

Possibly, but like Delmas and Phillips he has trouble staying on the field recently. Imagine Delmas' deal will look something like Phillips.

They lost both starting Tackles. Reiff is a RT and there was even talk of him moving to Guard. They need to draft a LT at 5.

We'll see. The makeup of Schwartz's defenses have always started with a 4 man rush that wins. Hard to see Detroits starting DL win as is. Imagine a DE first and come back for a tackle in the late first/early 2nd.
