Yeah we overpaid.
Don't know how you can make an overpaid list without Bushrod or Cook though.

Bushrod was hugely overpaid. Average tackle at best.

I mean, he uses PFF to judge Williams, but ignore how much the Bears paid Bushrod, one of PFFs worst pass blockers.

The Carey Williams deal was almost as bad though.
What's Derek Landri like? Haven't seen him play at all.

Yeah twas a bad deal.
Good pass rusher, bad against the run. Solid rotational player, shouldn't be a starter.

Michael Jenkins signed a 1-year minimum salary contract ($840,000) with Pats. No signing bonus or guaranteed money. $15K workout bonus.

He's as one dimensional as they get as well. You'd figure they'd want some like Kaepernick as backup

Trust any decision Harbaugh makes on a QB. Only gave up a 7th really too. A 5th and 7th for him and their 6th. And getting their 6th for our 5th means we only drop 9 places!

Re: Ongoing NFL discussion thread part 2
Don't care about what he did at Browns. I remember him from Texas and he is the type of backup that Harbaugh can work with.
Love Trent Baalke, a 5th and 7th for Boldin, McCoy and a trade up in the 6th. Lovr it. People can say what they want about Colt but Harbaugh can work with guys lacking arm strength and he is familiar with wco. A 7th for an back up with experience is nothing

You can try and put on this charade about Colt McCoy getting better with Harbaugh blah blah blah.
But he's awful. End of. I care what he did at the Browns because that was the real NFL. And he sucked badly.

Early prediction for 2014 - Colin Kaepernick leads the 49ers into the play offs before getting injured in the NFC Championship game. Colt McCoy comes in to lead the 49ers to Super Bowl success.

Matt Flynn will battle it out with Terrelle Pryor for the starting spot in Oakland then. The Matt Flynn trade is an ok trade, for now, for the Raiders as they have kept their picks in this year's draft but if Flynn doesn't work out they can't keep losing future draft picks.
I can't understand why the Cardinals are trying to trade for Carson Palmer though. The Raiders haven't just signed Matt Flynn to keep Palmer on their books for £13m next year. Surely the Cardinals could just wait until the Raiders let him go?

I was stunned when I read that we might get a 4th or 5th out of the Cards for Palmer. If Reggie swings it, it may well be the first time the Raiders have ever won on a trade...
Flynn is a useful piece. Reggie would have known him from Green Bay so he must see a starting caliber player there. Pryor won't start, but they are dreaming up some packages he could be used in. Personally I'd try and teach him route running and work on his hands because he would be a terrifying receiver with speed and size.

I don't love the move. I don't hate the move. He played very well over the second half of last season. Isn't worth the $8m he was due to earn this year but $2.5m is fine. The one thing I don't like is that it probably means we're not getting Winfield.

Haha agreed Sodhat, but lets face unless we rush the passer we could have anybody at corner and they'd get smoked
Also can't believe Arizona were stupid enough to trade for Palmer. Lets face it he would've been released with Flynn coming in
Already a lot of people on Facebook writing Flynn off before he's even thrown a football. Oakland has to be the worlds most pessimistic fan base, granted the latter Davis years has probably given them good reason. But I'm excited for the rebuild with McKenzie at the helm

Happy with the nnamdi signing. Almost no risk at all. Less than 1.5m base and no guranteed money at his own request. I know he struggled with Eagles but the system he played in didn't match up well with his skills. And to be fair, the Eagles were in turmoil and even their best players looked like clueless rookies at times so I expect much improvement

Re: Ongoing NFL discussion thread part 2
Got same response when we signed Rogers, Whitner and Goodwin really and look how that turned out. Obviously you are bias but most fans of other teams would, if honest, be happy to take on Nnamdi on such a risk free contract. I said at the start of this offseason that DRC and Asomugha will be pro bowlers this year and that is before the 49ers were linked. I stand by that and think good coaching and being where he wants to be will show the mess he has been in the last few years is over

Re: Ongoing NFL discussion thread part 2
Whitner isn't particularly good anyway? He was always a hitter. Rogers could cover but had crap hands.
You'd figure more NFL teams would be in on such a fantastic risk free contract then. Not even Rob Ryan was that desperate. DRC had an attitude problem, Nnamdi's was physical. One is fixable.
