The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Ballycastle Bar, Hong Kong.
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to Hong Kong, host city for the British & Irish Lions first Tour match before their arrival in Australia - land of the Giant Budgie Smuggler.
So grab a beer, cider, whiskey or wine.... or a warm beverage and sit back and enjoy the rugby.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Rory Best, Sam Warburton, the Limavady Luge Team, Papa Rodders, Mrs Rodders and our newest & sweetest member, Katelyn.

Class so far T had a fairly dodgy Chinese last night from this place my friend assured us was grand. Food was decent but the after affects have been felt all day. Met some overly friendly kangaroos today, that was fun. Leave Perth first thing in the morning for Brisbane where we meet up with the other lads and get a camper van for the trip up to cairns. Exciting times!

BREAKER - Do what Glas said. One of the best things I did was give up being responsible for the pub as was on the old BBC, hence I never became a Mod on here after it closed. People can be really schitty for no apparent reason and think they have some right to send abusive messages. However, that doesn't mean to say you should miss out and give up something which otherwise is enjoyable. Just be a regular poster on here and nip in now and again when you fancy it. You know your stuff and seem to enjoy posting it would be a shame for you to drop out altogether.
Hope everyone's well

Like BB, I'm finding it intolerable and I have been receiving abusive emails from a few irrational members. I reacted poorly to one poster's remarks and it caused a huge stir in the boxing section.
I had to ban 5 Members in one night - not like me (2 in 2.5 years)... and it was not an enjoyable situation to be in. It has been suggested that we let the Live Threads moderate themselves. I don't think that will work, unfortunately.
It's been great chatting with you all but I need to concentrate on other things. I'll still watch some sport but I won't be on here anymore. I apologise if I've ever offended anyone on here.
Thanks for all of your rugby contributions (you are second to none!) and I wish you & your teams all the best!
Sad to see you go chap. Sorry to hear about the abuse. Good luck to you guys in the Tour and the Ashes and give us a shout if you're ever in the UK

Knew you were thinking of leaving V2 Tom. Makes sense bud. If I were a Mod on this site, it would have no users. But you were always cool, collected, warm, honest, helpful and most of all - caring and kind. So time to get away from the online mongrels. You are a lovely man. Hope to meet you in Oz next year mo chara.
We'll always have Tara dahlink (FB). Lets not lose contact mate.

Ah what!! LB, you do what you need to do, but think about some of the suggestions made by others.
You're a top person imo
I do despair at some of the people who, having been given a blydi good forum to discuss sporting (and other) matters, decide to abuse it to the extent that this kind of stuff happens.

Stag, Hound... bring wet weather clothing.
The skies have opened up here and the rain drops are the size of small jelly beans. Nearly got knocked out running the 20m between the garage and the back door. Blydi freezing too. Reminds me a bit of NZ, Laurie.

Hi all,
PM for you Willy
Breaker I can only reiterate what others have said. Is packing in the forum really the answer?
Turn in your moderator badge, cancel your account and emerge back in a week or so as the new look Aussie_Architect
Nobody's any the wiser. Let the mods look after the dross on the site and stick to a few select posts.
It is a shame but V2 is set up in such a way that you can't escape the trolls.
My biggest feedback to V2 and its badly BADLY needed is the ability for the author of a thread to delete the posts.

I was bringing my Ealing waterproof anyway, as it is lightweight and there is a 23kg restriction on hold baggage on internal flights. Unless you want to pay an excess of A$70 per flight.
Stag - if anyone touring is a smoker they can only bring 50 cigs into Aus. I would advise people to check the Aussie Customs website.

Evening!
Hope everyone's well. I'm just about in one piece. Either Jenson Button moonlights for Cardiff Bus, or our driver had a death wish this evening, and we were all going to Hell with him. I had to get off before my usual stop - I was worried my lunch was going to reappear! Thankfully it didn't.
Bon Jovi are doing a gig this evening over in the football stadium. It's belting down with rain...their fans will know what Slippery When Wet is all right. It's quite loud already...it'll be fun later trying to get to sleep with "Livin' On A Prayer" going for the umpteenth encore... "Tommy used to work on the doooocks..." Shut it Jon Bong! No he fecking never. He's always been a top winger.
Congrats to 36 on the Lions call up. I really hope the injured can get well soon though...I'm not fancying our chances in the tests!

I think we will win the first test, Cari. However, due to distance for us and lack of depth for the Aussies, neither side can really afford to continue losing players!

Evening all,
Spent the day out at Marlow checking out the new toys those SAS* lads have to play with. No sign of the Rev, but the breakfast & lunch were pretty good.
And the podcast is up http://v2journal.com/15/post/2013/06/the-breakdown-rugby-podcast-110613-keith-mason-interview.html - the SuperLeague player interview was fun. And cheers Glas, some pretty insightful comments as ever.

Evening All.
REGS - is anyone in Cardiff for the Lions first test and fancy meeting up? It's the Saturday before my birthday and there's plenty of suitable venues for brunch and to watch the game. Kick off's at 10:30am...not too early for alcohol I suppose... If anyone's about, just drop me a message some where...

CARI - we were going to look at the weather forecast a bit nearer the date (at the moment it's forecast to be "scattered showers 30% chance of rain) with a view to inviting any regs up for a Brecwast BBQ. Anybody else interested?

That's no joke, Rodders. I'm guessing there's a pub or two in your neck of the woods that'll show the Waratahs game?
Fair play to the BBC, they know how to make music documentaries. The other week, I watched a programme about Otis Redding, then tonight I watched a programme about Stax Records on the iPlayer. Some of the live footage of Booker T and the MGs was something else. Then tonight I've been watching a programme about Steve Winwood, who's clearly talented as hell, but I have to say, I bought the best of Traffic CD and didn't think much of it. 'Paper Sun' is quality, though.
Traffic went over to San Francisco in '67, apparently. They were greeted by the Grateful Dead, who put them up and gave them acid.

Morning Lucky and any lurkers
As usual I automatically woke up at four, so I'm ready for this Welsh match.
Lucky - the BBC is fab for music documentaries. I watched the David Bowie one a couple of weeks ago which was brilliant and quite fascinating. They do good ones on the radio as well if you ever want something to listen to.

Hello pubbers. I haven't been on fora few days. I got a new phone and had to reactivate my email. Sorted now.
I see the new additions to the Lions squad have already taken a kicking on here.
Oh well, off on the first leg of the journey in just over two hours.
