Well the season is nearly upon us, with matches starting next weekend, so I thought it was time for a thread for it.

6. Arsenal
7. Everton
8. Norwich City
9. Swansea

One thumb is all we need
In Nodge cos that's how we breed
One lung and we stay alive
In Nodge we do survive
One aunt with a crooked nose
One unc' with a 9 inch hose
Our feet stinks of cheese and chive
One sniff and you won't survive
(Now get learning to sing Olly!)

Stupidity from Steven Taylor. A big congratulations must go to Aguero too, his play acting really sealed the deal.

We badly need some signings, Soldier. We've recruited one crock since last year and nobody else, and we almost went down then too.
The whole place is a shambles at the moment.

We've signed nobody since last season, are about to lose Cabeye and are playing some pretty dreadful stuff. I'd definitely make us a good outside bet.GSC wrote:Tad early. Swansea got battered at the Etihad opening MNF 2 years ago

The funny thing is the main reason that Joe Kinnaer was brought in was to help recruit players!
Not up to date with Newcastles deals so correct me if am wrong but have you only signed Remy on loan?

The thing is do Arsenal need another player like Cabeye? From my point of view he is similar to all the other midfielders they currently have in that he wants to get forward. They need a defensive midfielder surely, especially as Diaby's injury record is so bad??Lumbering_Jack wrote:We've signed nobody since last season, are about to lose Cabeye and are playing some pretty dreadful stuff. And Joe Kinnear is a total muppet. He's tried to claim he signed Tim Krul, a deal that had absolutely nothing to do with him. It's astonishing that he is in a job. If anyone else had demonstrated that level of incompetence in their workplace they would be sacked.

Was hardly loads of work on his part either given QPR were eager to loan him away while they're in the championshipLumbering_Jack wrote:Yip, remy on loan and that's it. Exactly! I wish I was Joe Kinnaer, surely one of the easiest jobs in football? I hope he is being paid for working part time.gazzyD wrote:Was hardly loads of work on his part either given QPR were eager to loan him away while they're in the championshipLumbering_Jack wrote:Yip, remy on loan and that's it. And as predictable as England losing a penalty shoot-out, Ian Holloway has been charged by the FA with improper conduct.

Constantly getting the club finned is hardly going to help him, when he has to explain why the club is on 5 points come Christmas.

If you are going to spout crap like "It's going to be a long, hard season for me with these people [referees].
"I had this with Blackpool. Certain clubs get fouls and others don't."
Then you really are making a rod for your own back.

Im pretty sure his Blackpool side got more fouls than Man United in their season in the sun. I actually like Holloway now hes not so funny. The persona ground me down, I like that hes come with an attitude for football. Although I will immediately hate him if he mentions being "proud of my boys"

In the Championship he's fairly reasonable. In front of the PL cameras the attention seeker comes out

Yeah the overall exposure of the PL has outed him as a fame who*e.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
As others have said, I quite liked Holloway when Blackpool were in the PL. Then, as the season went on (or maybe after his second interview!), became bored with the same old routine, his one liners, "small fish, big pond" moaning rubbish. I think he thought everyone loved it the first time around so he'd pick up where he left off. I feel for the Palace fans as he's turned into a bit of a clown. Let's hope the early warning will shut him up.

Holloway will soon become an afterthought because there's no way that team will even look like climbing off the bottom come what October.

Newcastle will finish top 10.
Can't understand the Geordies mumblings last night. They all expected a 3/4/5 goal hammering yet once they get that it's a relegation scrap all of a sudden.
What did they expect? Oh yeah a 3/4/5 goal hammering...

I think Holloway will quickly find that the media aren't as on his side this time around, last year they seemed to want his thoughts on everything that happened, I don't think they're as interested in him this year.

The attitude seemed to be the most concerning part.
They're there for the taking in that regard. And with us due in Newcastle on saturday afternoon, there is only one result...
2-0 to Newcastle

Chelsea Villa tonight.
Be happy with a point.
Think we'll put up a good fight, but can see Chelsea sneaking it by the odd goal.

However he makes very valid points. His words actually pushed the FA into changing the laws on loan players from abroad.. That is the impact he has made already- so i seriously wouldn't discount him.

Mystic, to be fair, he's one of those managers that I think when in charge of your team you tend to think he's great and passionate, other clubs fans just find him annoying now. A bit McCarthy like.
