Fulham are awful. I still think Stoke will drop personally. We'll be alright but I wanna see us challenging top halfmystiroakey wrote:Looking at it 13 games or so in.
Palace and hull look doomed,
I think westham have to much quality to keep up the bad form.
Its all about beating sunderlands and cardiffs results for you. And tbh i think you are marginally better

Fulham looked really good v palace- but it was just a few individual efforts.
They have the quality just no team ethic.
I think if something changes they will be fine.
Stoke are a hard working team. I think they will be ok

Jerome was alright, the midfield two OK. Your right back was decent. Gabbidon was assuredmystiroakey wrote:how was the palace players- any one play ok?
Chamakh is the single worst striker ever. And Moxey was atrocious.
Why the little Williams didn't start ahead of bannan I'll never know.
You can already see Pulis's stamp on the side anyways. Time wasting, petty fouls, long balls, long throws. Not pretty

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Interesting to see who Pulis can bring in, is Zaha heading back there? We've been linked but if Ben Arfa can't get into the side, I don't see how Zaha will, especially with Pardew's demand for defensive duties. If Palace can keep within six points of safety before the window, some players might join, otherwise they are doomed.
As for Newcastle, we got Swansea (a) & then Man U (a) next Saturday. Think we can win at Swansea but I think if we'd played United in those early weeks, when Moyes/United were all over the shop, we might of got a result but can't see us getting anything now. They will also have RVP back for sure.
Norwich - 0 points from next two games I would imagine.

I think Palace are the only ones doomed. Hard to call the others.
Mark Hughes single handily sent QPR down, so i think he will do the same with Stoke. Fulham if they don't sort themselves could also be in trouble. Hull, Cardiff and Norwich will be fine IMO.

Everyone loves when you wipe and nothing's there, even footballers.
Fulham were atrocious and Jol is on his last toe, let alone whole legs. Their overall 90 is the worst I've seen this season, they're worse than Norwich and ourselves at our lowest. The word id use is devoid. Watching Parker fighting on his own reminded me of Avram Grant taking us down.

He'll come good again, probably a few months just before the WC, have a storming WC & then he'll leave Villa with that 'release clause' he 'must' of inserted in that new deal

the embarrassing bit was about the team not him.
although he must have touched the ball at least 4 times.
1 goal and we're back.
1 problem. he doesn't look interested.

Cracking show of respect from the Cardiff fans, by applauding the Ramsey goals.
Ozil pass for the 2nd Arsenal goal, is a sign of a world class player. Simply won the game, as did that amazing save from the Arsenal keeper.
Week by week Arsenal are looking better and stronger.

Who would they bring in, another foreign manager or just promote Rene? Fulham are a nothing club, no real investment, foreign players on free transfers everywhere & a bad ground. Nothing exciting at that club whatsoever. Just going nowhere, barely surviving - can't be enjoyable.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Just watched MOTD and was quite perturbed by Tony Pulis' answer to a post match question when asked if his Crystal Palace team would adopt the tactics and playing style of his (Pulis') Stoke City side.
Pulis replied "If you mean the type of football that would keep us in the Premiership for six seasons and make it to a cup final, then yes."
I feel sorry for Crystal Palace if this is to be their fate. Tony Pulis is to football what Arthur Scargill was to industrial relations. Palace may possibly retain their premiership status under his stewardship, but they will become footballing Luddites in the process, systematically demolishing all notions of progress in order to retain their present status.
I wouldn't want to be a Crystal Palace fan today.

It might not be until after Easter that you breathe easily but I reckon you'll be ok. There are certainly 3 teams worse than your boys.

there is no fate with palace 4th lion- its a constant diversification , we produce attacking players- that wont stop because of pullis. Once we have gone down at the end of the season pulis will go elsewhere

I hope that that is so, Oaks. Er..... not that you go down..... but that he moves on and Palace stay the team that they are.mystiroakey wrote:there is no fate with palace 4th lion- its a constant diversification , we produce attacking players- that wont stop because of pullis. It is a fact that three must be relegated and right now, it is difficult to see Palace staying up. The harsh facts of football life and all that. But if they can retain their identity as a team that at the very least attempts to play the game in the right way, then there would be no dishonour in being relegated. At least they would have gone down fighting in a way we could all admire.
But imagine if they resort to "cynicism a la Pulis" and still go down. What price then, their fall from grace..?
Good luck, I say. I truly wish the Eagles (or even, The Glaziers, as were) the best of British. I hope you stay up, and I hope you do it in the right way. Good luck.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Forth lion I think from my point of view, 25-30 pts is a good return from the prem and will stand our players in good stead for the next season.
There isn't much chance of us staying up.
Although we have defended ok the last 4 games, this is not our fortay- The last thing i wont is to buy any players in the window that arnt significantly better than what we have.
The board and Holloway's biggest crime was to buy so many players that were not better or much better than what we have.
Pulis will have to work with what we have.
He does have the perfect DM in Jedinak , but many of our players like to attack, they like to run with the ball.
You could say if we got some decent defenders in to shore things up we could become a half decent counter attacking unit. But that is alien to palace. We have never ever played like that.
Look i am waffling but the reality is I expect top go down- Anything above 25 pts I will feel happy, If at the end of the season we have become a 'stoke' under Pulis I will not be happy.
I would rather go down and retain some original identity than to stay up as a fully fledged Pulis team
