2014 World Cup T20 Live Matches Thread
First topic message reminder :
World T20 has started again...seems like a few months back WI won it........
I think this will be turned into a 4 year event...and rightly so.
so far:
--BD beat Afghanistan........avenging their Asia cup defeat...and BD were talking up the win as if it's an achievement......well maybe it is...shows where they have set their bar or expectations. I can't be excited watching or following such a game.
--Nepal beat Hongkong.......is this a surprise ?...I have no clue where / how either of these teams stand?....and no interest either.
--and the big upset IRE beat Zim off the last ball...and that too without their stars Morgan and Boyd Rankin

Why does Kusal still have his pads on? Like me after a bad decision.

Sorry mate, but there's a frame missing (at least on my feed) and I think the ball is close enough to the ground between frames to raise doubts. Like I said, it's probably out but I've seen those reversed.
Also - Saffer marahJohanna is probably too strong a riefer for ya.

Na, he was caught on 0.
Then dropped 2 or 3 times since then I think. I can't remember who was dropped, Jaya or Dilshan.

I know that's the rational thought, but I've seen it happen plenty of times. Ultimately cricketers (and all sportsmen) are human beings, with human (emotional responses). Of course sometimes it goes the other way, and you use that sense of injustice to fuel your performance. what I have noticed is that it's very rarely a case of "everything back to normal again".
Mad - that's fair comment. I do though feel we've played so badly since the Davis decision that we have ourselves to blame more than him.
Particularly through his body language, Broad tends to wear his heart on his sleeve. I think a quieter, calmer approach is sometimes better and certainly might have been so here. We've never really looked in it since the Davis decision.

I drank something called stroh rhum or summat once, I think that's vaguely South African (at least it was the Saffers at our club who brought it in), never again
maybe you didn't get the right replay, there was one where you can actually see a gap between the ball and the ground when it goes into the fingers.

no idea why Dernbach is bowling slower balls to Perrera, that's just stupid

Jaya was dropped by Dernbach when he was on not-very-many (I think 19), Dilshan was dropped by Bresnan when he hadn't made many either, then Jaya was dropped again by Bresnan when he'd already got to 70 or so.

Stroh rum is Austrian, but for some reason... we do love it over here.

Malinga will be tougher than normal to play with the ball skidding on. If we try and sweep Mendis and Senanayake (sp.), it could be carnage.

doesn't much matter if it's skidding on for Malinga, he'll bowl yorkers, so the skid (off the pitch) is fairly irrelevant.

Re: 2014 World Cup T20 Live Matches Thread
Maybe they should have put detergent in the buckets of water at training...
On a more serious note - they are dreadful conditions there in Chittagong. Humidity + dew factor must be horrific to play in. You'd expect maybe 3 out of the 4 catches (excluding the first one Olly) to have been taken even in those conditions... fairly straight forward ones they were. I felt so sorry for Bresnan. Must have been like catching a bar of soap. The poor bloke looked as though he wanted to dig a hole for himself.

Are you still clinging to that half-baked lottery theory?
I keep telling you, you need specific T20 skills to win this tournament, and this England team don't have them.
The teams that have good T20 skills are India, Australia, West Indies and Sri Lanka. IMHO, the winner of this tournament will come from one of them.
