Great to have Woods back in a major, probably only got a few years left where he might be competitive. We should enjoy what's left of the career of one of sports true greats.

No English Pros under par. Even more pathetic.
Thought Woods looked pretty good so long as he didn't have to hit driver. Definitely right in this after Round 1.

How many of you lot were saying no englishman would make the cut in the masters..
Look how that turned out. I made good money on a top 10.
Stop getting so down on our lads.
Rose, westy, fish, fleetwood and baldwin to come.(who is baldwin??)

Does Nationality matter anyway? They play for themselves not for the country.
My punt on Big Ernie seems a bit hopeful already.

Yeah it matters..
It give's 80% of Brits something to moan about.
Tell Westy or Poults they are not English and see what reply you will get... Those two especially are very patriotic
Tell the same thing to Sergio that he isnt spainsih or rosberg that he isn't german(trying to get his helmet stamped with 4 world cup stars and the world cup logo)

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
ben,
They're just not playing very well for themselves, only point I'm trying to make!
But they're also the same blokes, by and large, who'll be shedding tears if they don't make the RC Team; bit like Casey & Rose a few years ago.

Just because i am the same nationality as a sportsman, It does not mean i want them to do well. I dont doubt any of their patriotism though. Id rather Hideki win then Poulter, in fact i would rather Tiger win then Poulter. And i am not a big fan of Tiger, though cannot deny he has been a great in the game.

Bubba worries me- I think he could start winning a lot of majors!!
He plays so sexy-Has every shot in the book. He could end up being a legend of the game.

In the "You can't win it on Thursday but you sure can lose it" category I see Patrick Top Five Reed has hacked his way to a 78. Not the start you want for a Major and hes giving himself some work to do if he wants to get to Gleneagles.

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
Fat Pat and Big Angel, are two that have played themselves out of it from the morning groups. The others at the low end not really expected to compete. A few afternooners looking like they could go that way aswell, especially Ern and Sned. WHich sounds like a northern mens clothing range.

Bryden MacPherson putting up my sort of inward half numbers:
Double
Double
Quad
Bogey
Not surprising he's +15 after 13 holes.
