Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
If the wind is dropping we'll see a stretched field! Not good that the draw should have such an effect on your score.
Only way to even out such things would be to have the cut after round 3. Or have no cut at all.

Has anyone seen some of the Pro's doing impressions of that pee-holding falsetto moron Ivor Robson?
The Fernando Castano one is particularly funny.

Looks a bit windy but also t-shirt weather. Not exactly gale force, anyone playing well should still be able to post a decent score.

why cant the pr!cks on bbc show the big lad(Shane Lowry). Their coverage is no better than watching 'marquee groups' without adds. Why dont they do marquee coverage on the red button for people who want to see justin rose scratch his arse as he walk towards the green

Thanks EmmDee,
Was surprised to see that Jason Day met his starting time given his contortions Thursday, wrist or thumb whatever is ailing him. Doing OK today though.

Perhaps if he was -2 and Justin was +4 for the day it'd be the other way around?

Why can't these players shout "Fore", are they that arrogant they think everyone on the hole is watching them at that precise moment they lamely hold out their arm?

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
Players have to realize that there are never out of an open even if they throw up the odd 7 and go 7 or so behind..
the open is random.. If you keep fighting eventually the field comes back to you.
This is far from over unless Rors gets the best conditions every day and plays his A game- then yes- game over!

I think most will struggle today Oakey. Good thing is there is a massive amount of players within a few shots, so while some big names are going to struggle (Nine Chins hopefully) someone from +1 or less could really put themselves in a fantastic position.

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
The way this is panning out surely plays in to Tiger's hands if he's got any of last year's form at all. He knows he doesn't have to play aggressively, can just take his Par-4 pars and bogeys and focus on the Par-3's and -5's.
No-one does that better. Whether you like it or not!

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
Well yes it could be playing in to tigers hands.
Rors bombs it very high . In windy condition he is effected more- he also prefers drop and stop golf- you have to run it up at the moment.
Not ideal for Rors but he still has the most talent in the field- Personally I am looking more at folwer or poulter as a longer patriotic shot when the wind blows- Not sure if tiger can maintain it and he hasnt got a great record from behind.

Still thinking the best golfer in the world right now: Rory (as long as he can stay out of his own way).
Given his lack of play this year, a top 10 for Tiger would be an excellent week.

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
Nine Chins hits it so needlessly hard that it puts a lot of spin on the ball, not great in windy conditions.
Someone like Garcia, who makes better contact with the ball than almost anyone could really be the one to watch, and considering he's just holed out from the fairway for eagle, definitely one to keep an eye on.

I know its not for you to care given your promises if Woods wins- but he should have left it in the boot of his car. He doesn't need it

Re: Open Championship Thread: Tee Times
Oakey, I've always said it. I reckon without a driver, without his laughably over-muscled physique, a bit more course management and a swing 5% slower, he'd be 20+ majors easily.
Fortunately he barely has a brain cell in his miserable head.
I haven't made any promises if Woods wins Oakey, all forfeits relate to Billy Bunter Lowry.
