Summer Transfer Window
First topic message reminder :
Sunderland are apparently on for will Buckley again this weekend. Another one from Brighton.
Also after Nacer Chadli from spurs and Jonas from Valencia - along with still trying to persuade fabio borini.

di Maria is simply a case of finding a big enough number to open the case. Vidal I'm not sure... although I personally reckon that eventually, Juventus finally hear a number that makes a 27-year-old with knee problems seem expendable

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Di Maria signing would have to lead to a shift in set up unless we planned to play him in central midfield which again would point to another midfielder joining too to allow that to be possible.
At this moment in time I don't think anybody knows what Van Gaal is thinking.

He's terrible, nothing to do with not fitting in. Other than being large and awkward he has no redeeming features - he would not be a professional footballer if he was 5"11 and 70kg.
He is the worst player we have ever signed by some distance.

Yeah Long only had 6 months left on his deal, so for us to get 7 million was good business at the time. Hopefully there's a nice little sell on clause in the deal for us. And I'll get to boo the diving Tinkywinky in two weeks rather than having to wait until December when we play Hull.

If my aunt had ball she'd be my uncle, he clearly has a use a player hence why he did so well at Everton, you seem to be confusing technical ability with overall footballing ability.

^^^^^^
This is the typical attitude of Chelsea fans and Lukaku. Although I don't think Fellaini acts like a bitch like Romelu did.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Just got back from the super cup. What a pleasure to watch ronaldo, and what a performance to boot. Incredible player, will remember this night for the rest of my life. kroos was brilliant as well, shame not seeing him in the red of utd.
On utd, seems Vidal is certainly on his way reading some of the things coming out of OT tonight. Expect Rojo to definitely sign and possibly Blind. On tonight, Di Maria was shown slumped on the bench not interested, didn't even play. I'll be amazed if he's at real this season because he's clearly not wanted, god knows why. PSG have pulled out, he's turned down Monaco apparently, so why Utd wouldn't go for him is beyond me.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I'd worry about di Maria for the money asked and think he's a gamble.
Very talented but really only had one top class season for Real Madrid - the season he was fighting for his future.
As for the others, I don't want Rojo if this strike story is true- not worth it.
Vidal I'll believe it when I see it.
Blind could be a good utility option but doesn't set the pulse racing a back up of a back up option.

The longer Angel Di Maria remained unsold, the longer the Radamel Falcao deal can't be completed.
This is according to a Spanish reporter on twitter, not the geezer that works for Sky.
Falcao has already rejected Liverpool and Arsenal. It's Real Madrid or bust for the Colombian...

Totally agree. Need to reinvest some of that money otherwise they are just going to have a depleted squad and a pile of cash - good for finances but not good for their hopes in the league.Olly wrote:Got no problem with money but they're gonna have to buy someone with it. Amazed how long has managed, not only to go for 6m but now for 12m! He's a busy player, worlds hard and has pace, but does not give you even 10 goals a season, which is pretty poor especially when your spending 12m on him. Poor business from saints in my view.

Buckley is our 3rd choice winger. LuaLua and March are better. Hardly a "best" player. 2.5 is good business but money needs to be spent which i won't.

Extremely doubtful. Unfortunately nobody has been silly enough to pay the money we want yet. And with Pilkington going to Cardiff (still seriously annoyed about this) it'd be madness to sell Redmond without getting a replacement first (nothing going on on the recruitment front in Norfolk atm)

In case anyone wants to sign, I set up a petition to ask Talksport to sack Alan Brazil:

Thanks. If you don't agree with the petition, please don't comment as it detracts from the thread. Love you all.

thought koeman had done well with forster, tadic & pelle, but long @ £12m is a shocker.
also leicester owners banging on about challenging for europe about three months ago, since then they've signed ulloa, upson & are wanting OAP cambiasso. forget europe, more like back to the championship. burnley & leicester will be gone this season, no real ambition whatsoever.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Atsu deal confirmed for Everton today. Think its mainly just one more striker needed before the window shuts but where we stand with what we have, we can pick a very decent 11 and not a bad back up 11. Should be ok for a busy season barring a bad injury list.
