Summer Transfer Window
First topic message reminder :
Sunderland are apparently on for will Buckley again this weekend. Another one from Brighton.
Also after Nacer Chadli from spurs and Jonas from Valencia - along with still trying to persuade fabio borini.

Pulis might leave Palace within 24 hours if he doesn't get more money to spend.

Good let him leave, the EPL won't miss him. He's clearly got at least £8m, since he bid for Caulker. Pulis does grate on me.

At least he puts out a competent side unlike most of the division, I don't mind him at all.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Man utd's twitter account teasing us fans, after tweeting the squad numbers they immediately tweeted after that "any new acquisitions will be allocated vacant squad numbers". I genuinely think by this weekend Vidal will be signed along with Vidal heading the other way, with blind and Rojo also signing. Can't see di Maria coming, got a feeling PSG will eventually come back in for him.

That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for them.

Allegri saying Vidal won't be leaving in his pre match presser for their Asian tour.
We currently don't have a number 5,7 or 9. Shaw got 3 and januzaj 11.

Allegri saying he won't be leaving doesn't mean a thing but the longer the saga gets drawn the less positive I become that the deal will be finalised.
Think Blind and Rojo will join, maybe Di Maria and if not a central midfielder.

Rojo has a third party owner and a sell on clause from his previous team.
Can't see that being done easily or cheaply.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
It seems like Sporting are stuck between a rock and a hard place, they have two options neither of which is favourable.
1. They pay the third party owners £12mil for the rejected bid.
2. They accept the bid but receive only 5% of the transfer fee which would equate to £800k.
This is a prime example of why third party ownership should not be allowed, obviously as a United fan I want us to buy a new defender but what exactly do Sporting do?

Not allow themselves to get involved in that minefield?
The closer we get to deadline day, the more concerned I'm getting about United's business. Can't allow for last years failings again.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
I see Javi Martinez is out for four months+, wouldn't surprise me to see Pep steal in on Arturo & leave Woodward red faced at the end of another window. I don't see the fuss with Rojo to be honest, thought there were superior options available throughout the summer & United didn't do anything.

Potentially massive transfer news coming from Germany. Wolfsburg are in talks with Nicklas Bendtner.

Not buy a player with a 3rd party funding most of the deal?

Vidal at Bayern? Don't see it, he'll just use Lahm and a fit Thiago there.

Bendtner to Wolfsburg is done. The Dane received this less than glowing endorsement from his new coach Dieter Hecking; "We dared to touch the top shelf of players. It's empty though now, we had to look a bit further down."

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Blind is as good as done, the Rojo deal needs a bit of tweaking which i'm sure will result in a positive outcome that then leaves the two big deals of Vidal and Di Maria, if we stump up the cash we'll get them.
Looking forward to seeing Blackett get his debut tomorrow, think he'll surprise a few this season, always more pleasing to see local lad who's come through the academy.

I still maintain we need a "Go Home Media You're Drunk" Thread for crap like that In good news for United Vidal has had another medical What we up to 40?
Expecting Bayern to make a play for Khedira with Javi Martinez injured.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
United won't get four players, I'd say a max of two before the window shuts. It's too late to start integrating a mass of players into this system, so close to a season in my opinion. Blind is probably the easiest signing to make out of the deals currently being linked.
Interesting to see Deulofeu going to Sevilla on a season long loan. As for Khedira, it's either Bayern, Chelsea or Arsenal. Take your pick Sami.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Can't see any of the big names being done, if we've paid 30 million for shaw and Herrera we would just stump up the 45 million for Vidal if it was just cash holding it up.
Blind i think we would have gone for already, could be he is a back up option hence the late deal.
Rojos ownership is so complicated I wonder if that can be done tbh.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
De Boer has all but confirmed that Blind is leaving, he's also been spotted house hunting would you believe. Rojos ownership is straight forward but it results in Sporting asking for an inflated price, i'm sure a compromise can we met between all three parties.
With Vidal there's a lot of concerns with regards to his fitness and that could be holding the deal up, if you're spending that kind of money you want be certain it's the right deal.

Maybe he can house share with Arturo if he ever finds a place.

He said blind could leave for a good offer.
I never believe this house hunting nonsense either.
Vidal would just come for a medical and then either pass or fail it, wouldn't be weeks and months of posturing and allegri saying he isn't moving.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
Pep is the only person in the world who loves Lahm more than me, and Thiago is his protege, plus you'd think Götze will get more time in the offensive position, so I can't see Vidal fitting in at Munich.. plus he tackles, Pep don't like people who dare to dirty their shorts. Also, at 50 million I think United have managed to price him out for everyone but themselves. Barring one of those oligarchs, I don't think anyone is going near a 27-year old with a knee complaint for that money other than Manchester

Interesting news about Javi Martinez, Marca had stated the Atletico had agreed a deal to sign him prior to the USC. But now he's injured the deals off. Seems as though Khedira might be their man....

A manager saying a player isn't leaving doesn't mean anything, personally think it's sensible to keep tabs on how Vidal does during Juventus' pre-season tour but you seem to think these things happen in a heartbeat.

No chance of €27m prizing him away. Dortmund to Atletico....sideways step in my view & I'm sure, with respect to Atletico, he has his eyes set on a big elite club like Barcelona etc. I personally don't see him moving this window.

It's hardly a heart beat.
He played in the World Cup.
Get the offer in, get it accepted - get him to Manchester and so his medical, if he fails he fails.
Rather than mess about for ages waiting to see how he does, miss our pre season and come in when the seasons started - if he comes in at all.
Doesn't make any sense at all really, if the issue is his fitness out medical team will need to assess him.

You don't normally get players that are considered really close friends. Probably Man Utd's Beckham/Nevs/Giggs etc is the only I can think of but they where all already at the same team.Hammersmith harrier wrote:That tactic works all the time doesn't it Gerry.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
If, and it's a big if, Reus leaves, this is how I think it will happen.
1 - Reus speaks to owners
2 - Owners agree, but ask him to sign a contract extension to ensure they get the best possible deal for him.
3 - being a Dortmund boy at heart, he agrees. Signs a four year extension in a few weeks, with a juicy buy out clause...
4 - leaves to Madrid (Real) for 45m in a year.

Who's being lined up Olly as a replacement, anything in the pipeline. Strange decision to sell to a promotion rival but then again, strange, is a word usually associated with the decision making at Norwich F.C.

Re: Summer Transfer Window
No idea John, seems he was frozen out yet we're happy to pick Bradley Johnson/Andrew Surman in the starting xi.
Honestly becoming more and more baffled by the minute. We haven't even been linked with a defender although we only have two recognised CB's (Bennett and Turner) with Bassong being frozen out.
Then we play Redmond and Elliot Bennett, two fantastic wingers at this level, up front and centre mid. I've no idea. Hopefully this will all be rectified with the team tomorrow!
Fancy Watford to roll us over tho. We don't do well against them anyways, and they've some seriously good players.
