First topic message reminder :

Sunderland are apparently on for will Buckley again this weekend. Another one from Brighton.

Also after Nacer Chadli from spurs and Jonas from Valencia - along with still trying to persuade fabio borini.

The scramble around Europe for centre backs is a mystery;

Firstly we're reported to have a bid accepted for Benatia and he's flying in to agree terms and have a medical then he's apparently signing for Bayern with sources from Man Utd rejecting any interest on our behalf then reports suggest Bayern are interested in Godin.

Knowing Utd's luck in the transfer market recently they'll sign Bruno Alves or something.

We can offer you Yanga-Mbiwa, would be a solid option. Also, I hear Joe Kinnear is unemployed, think he'd work well with Woodward in securing those key deals that you need

Rojo to United with Nani going on loan to Lisbon. Could be done in days

4 year contract with an option for a 5th

Well considering we have Grabban, Lafferty and Hooper (who is fat and injured) I'd say another option is needed. Jerome not prolific, but will cause issues in this league with his pace and power.

Cuellar not too unhappy, decent backup option and adds experience to the defence. Needed another body.

Fer in the squad for the game tomorrow. No bid accepted according to Adams. Good stuff

Getting rid of Nani is good, really not convinced on Rojo. The signing doesn't actually solve anything really. Good wing back, not convinced he's a left sided centre back in a three though. Where that leaves Shaw is a ?

Jones will play over Smalling IMO, and Rafael is likely ahead of Valencia when fit (!) but I agree it doesn't look great

A Benatia esque signing would go a long way but can't see it thanks to the clowns in charge

Godin's an upgrade on Dante defensively but not sure he's technically comfortable on the ball or a good passer. He suited playing in a deep lying Atletico defence, whereby his lack of pace wasn't an issue. At Bayern, he'd be stepping up the pitch & would be asked to involve himself, like Boateng does.

£10m is being rumoured, not worth that much is Fer, but wouldn't surprise me to see QPR bidding that much.

Defenders' prices are clearly inflated at the moment due to a lack of quality, any defender who is slightly decent is then worth a lot more. Hence Luiz going for £50 million, Shaw for £30 million, Lovren for £20 million etc.

More details on the rojo deal. Obviously Nani has gone on a year loan, during which time United will still be his wages in full.

Di Maria on bench for Madrid tonight. Khedira doesnt even make squad, guessing the latter definately wont be there come close of transfer window

Don't quite understand why we didn't just give them Nani or up our offer, we're effectively paying £5mil over the course of a year for a player we don't want, can't sell and now can't play, seems stupid to me.

Nobody was paying his near £100k a week, just be glad he's gone. Problem is, you've signed bad players & given them ridiculous contracts. Same will happen with Fellaini, he will go out on loan but you will be fitting the bill on wages.

I doubt nani is on 150k a week.

If he does well for sporting this year well be able to sell him.

He's on 90k a week, we've signed three good players who all improve our team John, too many are too quick to write them off just we've bought them.

Fellaini will only go out on loan if somebody is willing to pay his wages, if they're not there is no benefit to letting him go unless it's a makeweight which is unlikely.

I was talking about Nani/Fellaini's ridiculous wages & how difficult it would prove to sell them on permanently, so you'd continue to foot the bill. I didn't say anything about your new signings, think they are good acquisitions.

As for West Ham, please tell me they aren't signing Valeri Bojinov? Terrible, terrible, terrible.  picard

I dont understand it either. He'll be behind every one of our strikers in the pecking order. This is gonna be like when we signed Mido on a £1k per week deal.

And what we need is a ruddy centre back as we've got one who can play next week.

Looks good and the Argies usually cope with the physicality.

Think MU are in a pickle. If they sign Di Maria I assume they'll revert to a back 4. Which leaves the squad very unbalanced (you can only realistically pick 3 of Mata, RVP, Rooney, Januzay, Di Maria) and still short in central midfield.

The Leroy Fer deal has been completed.

Won't be a surprise to see Barcelona looking to bring in another big signing before the end of the window, 18 months is quite a long time to keep the same squad, although I have a feeling it will end up being reduced.

Leroy deal 8m from QPR rising to 10m and a sell on clause (although shouldn't imagine it's much tbh). Solid stuff

Jerome and Cuellar in. Again happy with that, solid championship signings

Apparently QPR much like us didn't take much notice of Leroy's knee failing the medical (Everton did). Of course he missed most of the second half of last season for us...

Seen a lot of Norwich fan moaning about Jerome. Need to wake up we ain't Prem no more, he's a good signing for this league. Adams is compiling a good plethora of signings this summer
