Have you seen it? He had to make the challenge, but Berainho was too quick for him.

Didn't say it was good defending, I said he had to make the challenge. Doesn't change the fact that another referee can't make a simple decision, but I forgot premier league refs don't concern you this season

Liverpool probably just edged it, I was disappointed that we didn't go for it a bit more as I think if we did we could have got a point. Berahino played well again, missed a couple of chances but led the line well. Won't be long until Roy calls him up.

Both guys on Radio 5 thought it was a pen on first viewing.
And if theres a challenge that tight to the area and you get it wrong, it isnt a challenge you "had to make"

I know this isn't the championship but I wanted to bring to the attention of everybody the triple save by Adam Collin today in those short highlights. Not the greatest quality but it is quite simply the best bit of goalkeeping by an opposition keeper I've ever seen at carrow road. Remarkable stuff

From what ive just seen on MOTD it looks like Gerrard is in the way of the ref's view and he's seen Berahino in the box and pointed to the spot on the Lino's advice as he took a fair while to give the pen took a walk to the box 1st.

You know what would have happened if it was the other way round.hampo171 wrote:Good win for us against a very hard working West Brom team. Have to say the Oliver made a right mess of the penalty for their equalizer, it was a foul no doubt but it was half a yard outside the box and should have been a simple decision, would have been very disappointed had that cost us.
The usual band of clowns here would be going ape Poopie.

Jordan Henderson is Liverpool's most important player. You tell me I'd have said that a year ago and I'd have either laughed at you or laughed at the state of Liverpool. Well done that lad

He would have been sent of and the free kick outside the box. I am not sure what's worse at that point in the game. Yes bad decision. But the result unaltered.

That overpriced transfer is showing how justified it was, he is the best player in the league.

well up until the last few seconds that was a good half from Man U, Shaw's a lucky boy and defo owes De Gea a few drinks, stupid rash challenge.
Good finish by Di Maria, though what impressed me most was how quickly he reacted to the ball falling to Mata and in a split second had found that pocket of space. Terrific movement IMO.

I could score the goals he's got for the most part. Prolific certainly, but they've two yards from goal nearly every time. He looks even better because he replaces Torres but pretty much any half decent striker could get a glut spearheading Chelsea at present.
He's the finishing touch to an already Champions League challenging team, Di Maria meanwhile is dragging Utd single handedly up the table.

Fabregas & Di Maria are the best players in the league technically. Silva could join them (again) if he gets back to his best.

Saying you could score the goals he does implies that or a lack of talent.

He's fortunate to be the spearhead of a very impressive side that are set up for his style and will provide him with plenty of opportunities.
So if that makes him lucky then yes. He's an excellent predator but I'd fully expect Chelsea to have won the matches if they had another poacher up front.

Why do I follow sport? It will finish me off one day. de Gea's probably second in the world to Neuer in terms of shot stopping. Phenomenal.

Brilliant stuff from De Gea that is, the most important win of the season so far and would have been damaging to the morale to have seen Everton equalize so late on.
On a side note thought Rafael had one of his best games for a while, was diving in and on the whole was solid forward and back.

De Gea has incredible reflexes. He and Lloris are the two best shot stoppers in the league when it comes to making sheer reflex saves.
Courtois and Cech are the best all round.

Cech was the best all round goalkeeper a few years ago but too many errors crept into his game and he's never been the same since the injury, while it's far too early to have Courtois that high up. De Gea will testify how different it is playing in England.
