No, it's a Bear Grylls thing on Channel 4.

The Ewan Mcgregor one is a Michael Bay film, starts off alright but just gets all a bit silly and car chasey, give it a miss if you haven't seen it.

Have never seen the DiCaprio one, never appealed for some reason.

Me too.

The cricket that is, not riding the hipster wave with you.

Seany will hate him as he isn't a pure blood Englishman, but Gary Ballance is a good player.  3 tons and 3 50's in 9 tests.  Got the right temperament for test cricket.

Him, Bell and Root look to have the makings of a solid middle order. The openers are the obvious issue at the minute. Trott needs and deserves a bit of time, but Cook is a huge issue, carried his one day problems into the test game and looks to have fundamental issues of technique when it comes to anything pitched up at him.

Yep, I don't think his captaincy, although vastly improved on where it was, is good enough to keep him in the team if this carries on.

He has 25 centuries, but doesn't look like getting another one anytime soon.

I have never been overly impressed with his captaincy, he seems to be overly cautious and does not tend to really go for the jugular. He is still young enough to iron out his technical deficiences, but you do suspect he needs to do it quickly, particularly if someone like Lyth gets a lot of runs again for Yorkshire or the reserves.

Not sure about Lyth - England already seem to rely too much on batsmen with only one syllable in their surname, a policy that doesn't seem to be working.

He is getting better but he'll never be a Clarke, McCullum or seanmichaels in the captaincy stakes.

He had some funky field positions yesterday that got a wicket but it probably came from the dressing room.

Laugh

And like Galted he is a slaphead.

Cook is woeful. The steely look and facial hair doesn't fool me. Sir Geoffrey has his card marked.

Almost certainly. Wicketkeeper batsmen of that quality are worth their weight in gold.

With him at number 3 and Raf coming in at number 4, the middle order is safe.

Sean to bat number 11, never bowl and field at fine leg. But, his Brearley like captaincy is enough.

Shah must be a good leg spinner? Albeit with a suspicious action.

I think Lyth will miss out due to his age. Lees at Yorkshire will probably be the next Gooch, Atherton, Strauss, Cook, type long term opener.

Interesting. Sort of I guess.
Some Asians think I look like Mr Bean. Maybe there is a similarity, but less sharpish features, less facial contortions.
Maybe more an Atkinson/John Cusack blend... but more rugged of course.

Graeme Swann is a bit craaazzzzeeeeee for my liking. I expect he'd be constantly looking for laughs.

Nah, nothing like him.  My mates tell me I look like Graeme Swann (well, they actually say I am an ugly version of him) but I think I look more like Hugh Jackman.

So you're sort of a handsome bastard full of crap... but slightly less so than Swanny then?

For some reason, I see Jules as having an element of the Basil Rathbone look.
Don't know why I think that. Maybe because he is so damn cool and clever?

An older version of Iniesta, so I'm told, but with glasses.

I never would have guessed that. I was so far out.
I guess we'll see most of the Culture Cupsters at your birthday party. What month will it be... roughly? I need to start planning for the trip.
The new lady has a wedding to go to in Europe towards the end of your summer. Thought I could make a slight diversion... it will be worth it.

Sounds like a plan. It's the middle of July. I'll be the one in the Barcelona shirt.

That might work for me. Always best to spend a minimum 3-4 weeks on a holiday.
I'll check out SYD-DXB-BHX flights. You're sort of near Birmingham aren't you? Could also visit my pal, littleswannygirl.
I won't be wearing khaki and you'll probably be taken aback with my Mid-Pacific accent.
